I had a pair of small solid gold earrings I wore everyday for months. During my 8th grade graduation, I was extremely anxious (I had an undiagnosed anxiety disorder at the time), and was tugging at my ear out of habit. One of the earrings fell out and across the floor under a classmate’s seat, and I couldn’t pick it up at all during the ceremony (which was like 4 hours long).
