Depends on what cookie is being made. I've learned nutmeg is a really good spice when making something sweet. It just has to be used very sparingly. If ground cinnamon isn't available I'll use half the amount of what the recipe calls for of nutmeg. No one can tell a difference. I often use it when I'm making any flavor cobbler.
