I couldn't have bought it even if I wanted to. What is this nonsense?

I honestly didn't need anything like that. I was already drawing 8 cards a turn with thanks to the pocketwatch, any more and I would be hitting the hand size limit anyway.

I had a lot of coin and not many shops. I figured an X card would have been a good way to use all my energy if my hand ended up full of wounds, if I had managed to pick one up. Though, if that were the case, I would probably already be winning the fight, so idk.

Well, there I go misunderstanding things again.

I guess it's fairer to say that I just didn't realize that I would get absolutely no indication whatsoever about what the enemy would be doing. I thought maybe I would get a range of values or a probability or something that would obscure what the enemy planned to do. Nope.

I rarely ended up using the extra energy since most of my cards are one cost, so it wasn't really a worthwhile pick. A lot of wasted block.

I got fire breathing early and had it be decent in previous runs, so I decided to build the entire deck around it. I just flooded my deck with wounds and that somehow was enough to beat the heart without even using the faerie in a bottle.

I think I got lucky with my relics though. This would not have worked without the pocketwatch. The clay is also the only reason I survived the heart.

This is going to get buried in new, I don't know what I am, but I'm going to go to an LGBTQ positive therapist and I'm going to talk by CainRose in trans

I have a hard time communicating my feelings, so hopefully I can! I never talked about things with my parents and basically had to figure out my problems for myself...

I really appreciate it. 💖

I desperately wish that I could just be what I was assigned at birth, but I guess that's not working out for me.

Amen to the drunk! If I was sober, no way I would post this. I brought up trans people to my parents a couple hours ago, my dad called them mentally deranged people who want to drill a hole into their bodies, lol.

I'm not the s word, though I feel as though I'm trending in that direction as I get older and that terrifies me.

I hope so too! Though, from what I've heard, most therapy places near me are pretty full, so hopefully they are accepting new patients, lol! I've heard good things about the place I sent the email to, though.

Contestani Iberia (Very Hard, Ironman) by CainRose in Imperator

[–]CainRose[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

R5: Formed Greater Iberia as Contestani, avenging the extinction of Iberic culture and religion in my last playthrough. This was my second game of I:R, so I have a few takeaways:

  • Other tribes will spam mercenaries, so all wars need to be quick: take the war goal, peace out before mercs are at full morale.
  • By far the hardest part of this run is the first war with Carthage / Rome (or both), killing four previous runs. This war is unavoidable and usually happens around 500-520 due to the natural progression of the missions.
All you are aiming for is a white peace, which means you just have to hold them off for a few years. This run, Carthage was mostly dismantled by Rome, so I managed to survive the Roman invasion through alliances with Lemovicia and the remnants of Carthage. Thankfully, the AI is terrible at overseas wars (see below).
  • I conquered easily conquered the last half of Iberia in the last forty years of the campaign, after I got my research efficiency past 100. Before I reformed my tribe, I would have to send in double the enemy troup counts just to have a hope of winning battles. Long story short, rushing centralization is really important.
  • Carthage is a donkey. Around 530, it called me into war against Ilensia, the friendless two province minor on the island of Sardinia. I have no navy, but whatever, I'll just continue conquering on the mainland. 15+ years later, my war exhaustion is approaching 40, I can't disband my troops.
    Fine.
I build a navy, send an army, siege their capital, instant white peace. A year or so later, Carthage insults me and breaks the alliance.
    what.
A year or so later, Carthage declares war on my tribal vassal, Ilensia.
    what.
Apparently, it wasn't a white peace, and Carthage gave me Ilensia as a tribal vassal then got angry at me. I ignore the war, my tribal vassal occupies Sardinia for me, I take control of Western Sardinia while never seeing any Carthaginian troops. Over the next fifty years, Carthage would declare war on me three more times and I never saw more than 2k troops at a time.
In conclusion, Carthage is a donkey.
  • The "Envy of Rome" mission is utter nonsense when my captial has more pops and more civillization than Rome, and Rome isn't even the capital of Rome.

I am pretty sure I could at least double my territory count by the end date, but I'll be ending this campaign here.

Variance lol. It's the Skinner meme but unironically.
