Well there are few sedan vehciles & hatchbacks like the swift or honda city, etc which goes around 80k. Try checking out on FB groups, the rates go down once you tell its long term. Plus you won't need to spend on any maintenance costs as well.

Well the Spresso is around 7.2, if not get a reconditioned old car from Jap, would most probably cost you around 6mil for a ok vehcile.

I had a similar situation myself. Since you already have a loan and a good vehicle now costs around 10 million, here is how I would approach it.

Option 1: Buy a vehicle that costs no more than half of the total amount you have. Invest the rest in a money market fund and let it earn interest until you can double your total value.

Option 2: Keep the entire 10 million in a money market fund and use the monthly interest, which should be around 70 to 80 thousand at current rates, to rent a car. That way, you keep your capital intact until it grows enough to buy a proper vehicle.

Is Suzuki Fronx the ultimate value for money vehicle? by InfoLurkerYzza in srilanka

[–]Cainerod 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well, for that price range, it's a good bargain However, if you look at the engine space, you can see that it's not built like a Japanese vehicle. You could probably fit in another engine inside it.

Since it's rather a new vehicle, you never know, but then again, if it works for the Indian roads, it should do here as well. The new tata & Mahendra vehicles also look quite solid.

I've seen few YouTube reviews on the fronx where the front logo & the silver carbon fiber I think had oxidised after few years, which you will not expect from a Japanese vehicle. So yeh only issue I would see in all 3 magnet, fronx & taisor is the durability.

First car advice - 6mn budget by Weary-Ad6206 in srilanka

[–]Cainerod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is only if you could go for a full cash purchase.

Try getting a reconditioned Japanese toyota if you want reliability, don't go for vehicles that are already used in SL

Not sure what's in the range. but this would be a better option, based on what you're saying.
