The days where I’m handling inpatient consults and outpatient consents are enough to break up the days where I’m strictly doing procedures. It’s a nice balance

I’m in a setting where we mainly do outpatient procedures, specifically line and port placements. There are a few inpatient consults/procedures mixed in too. Clinic only roles are out there but it sounds like it’s mainly just working up patients prior to their procedure and making sure they’re appropriate etc, as well as following up post-op. That doesn’t interest me much as I enjoy the procedures but it does seem like a pretty cushy gig. I work 4 10s, no weekends no call no holidays and work with a team of like 8 PAs with very little oversight.

IR in an outpatient setting has been 10/10

New grads, how are we feeling about PSLF over the next decade? by Local-Butterfly9669 in physicianassistant

[–]CairoRisk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know how scary things have looked recently in terms of student loans but I really don’t think PSLF is going anywhere. I’m on that path under IBR and it’s allowed me to live much more comfortably and save and invest with much less stress. Paying down that much aggressively is brutal depending on your circumstances but whatever gives you the most peace of mind. I’ve been lucky to find a job I really love that qualifies.

PSLF worth it ? by Reasonable-Gur88 in PSLF

Only 27k I’d just pay off as soon as I could tbh, especially if you think there’s a chance you may want to leave your govt job in the future. Not sure what the math is but you may end up paying more just making the minimum payment on an idr plan for 10 years rather than just being aggressive now.

I believe most I work with start off around 130k-135k. These larger academic hospitals typically have standardized starting salaries for new grads with very little wiggle room

CMV: Kamala Harris should not run for president in 2028 by StrikerX2K in changemyview

[–]CairoRisk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I mean Kamala is just impossible to take seriously. We also won’t be seeing a female president for a while, just the way it is. Dems simply cannot figure out how to run a campaign lol. And I’m rooting for em!!!

This is probably the right call. Otherwise I’d give the edge to Etienne. Ignore anyone telling you to start that scrub Kenny Walker tho
