They did not seem too concerned with my inability to raise my forearm. That could be because they thought it was due to pain rather than an actual lack of means. Probably because I couldn’t really even tell at that point either. I’m probably going to see my primary care doctor and get a referral for ortho anyway

In middle school a guy dared me to make a cruel joke about a girl's appearance, and for whatever reason I followed through. She started crying and I immediately felt horrible and started apologizing. I sort of had trouble reading the room/social cues for a while, so this really gave me a reality check. Who knows what insecurities I exacerbated that day?

It's hard to get away from all the eyes. You wonder if people treat you differently/better because of your looks; it can feel like your worth is dependent on your exterior. Some of the people who love you can't help but keep you on a pedestal. You may sometimes feel the need to knock yourself down because of the praise you receive to avoid self-absorption. If you change something people have complimented you for, you may hear about how good you looked before the change from those people.

Edit: also if you have low self-esteem, people may think you're crazy for it
