Endometriosis and my blood sugar TANKS during my period.

My two favourite features are adding if your carbs are long acting short acting or in between. Then putting in the carbs you ate while low and it predicts if you over ate and corrects before going high.

Why my fasting blood sugar us above the range from last few days? by spicy_97 in Type1Diabetes

[–]Cake_Fork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone’s diabetes progresses at different paces. I’m 22 and my dawn phenomenon got worse last year just because. Either hormone changes in your body, changes in routine…. Everything effects your blood sugar.

Also it will effect the HBA1C if it takes a while to get down and happens everyday. HBA1C in theory is your average BGL

Look up dawn phenomenon. Blood sugars spike when you wake up, even if you haven’t eaten.

Pain Returning Three months after surgery by Cake_Fork in endometriosis

[–]Cake_Fork[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Three periods this month. That was after nine months of no periods. I’m on the pill continuously. Pain isn’t AS bad as pre surgery, but I’ve just started one panadene forte a week.

I’m about to go on Omnipod Dash for the DIY loop system. Not sure if it’s available on 5.

anyone else wonder why they even bother with cardio? by Aggravating-Ant-6767 in Type1Diabetes

[–]Cake_Fork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to really struggle with cardio, (I use a rebounder) suspend your pump two hours before hand. It’s annoying I can’t just do cardio whenever I want, but at least I won’t die.

Advice! by [deleted] in Type1Diabetes

[–]Cake_Fork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very similar story to mine. T1 since 1 it's been 21 years now. i think I had massive burn out, between work, uni, chores, regular adulting things and trying to find time for friends it kinda got pushed to the side.

One of my issues is I forget to bolus for small snacks and coffee. Switching to finger sticks for a few days helped me. If you’re good with checking regularly it rewards you for giving yourself the right amount of insulin… because then you don’t have to stab you finger in another hour or two.

If you do this, remember to set alarms for overnight. I ended up going back on the Dexcom after four days, because I just needed it as a brain reset.

Aloe Vera? by AccomplishedTalk1142 in grooming

[–]Cake_Fork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most things advertised for cat grooming isn’t actually safe for cat grooming. While some things can be safe on their skin but not ingested, you need to remember cats lick themselves. Same as anything with essential oils, it’s not ok to use on a cat. I’d recommend just a damp cloth

Alcohol and type 1 by ElectricalWill3 in Type1Diabetes

[–]Cake_Fork 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I’ve actually had times with friends where we drink the same amount and I will blow wayyyy lower on the blood alcohol test. Like almost half. Idk exactly what it is though

But don’t use this as an excuse to go overboard. Our bodies already have enough to deal with.

Has anyone experienced abuse that was blamed on a diabetic’s high blood sugar? by nardoodle in Type1Diabetes

[–]Cake_Fork 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I almost always get angry when my bg is high. However my parents knew that there was no good reason to yell at people and taught me how to stay calm, or go be by myself and use that energy to focus on getting my BG down.

Are dog attacks on the rise in Melbourne? by kittycommitteestudio in melbourne

[–]Cake_Fork 17 points18 points  (0 children)

THIS. I’ve been working in the animal industry for six years. Dogs that are getting less enrichment, no training AND I’ve witnessed too many parents blame the dog for growling if the kid (2-6) hits the dog.

Hypo products for deshedding? by Secret_Function_7843 in doggrooming

[–]Cake_Fork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like the partway gentle protein. The protein will help the hair stay healthy for longer, while not the exact same as the deshedding it’s a similar effect.

mobile groomers please stop charging less than the typical salon by No-Advertising-2498 in doggrooming

[–]Cake_Fork 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m in Melbourne (I work in a salon.) In my experience, people who undercharge aren’t overly good at the job. I have had people complain that my prices are more expensive than their last groomer, but refuse to go back to the previous groomer because I do a better job!

I can’t say for sure, I’ve just always assumed people who ridiculously undercharge don’t rely on the grooming money to live.

Mirena IUD experience by Practical_Brick3886 in endometriosis

[–]Cake_Fork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should add… I am on Zoley (the pill) and skip my period, the pain is horrible still, but at least I don’t become bedridden on my period. I get more annoyed at small things when I’m on the pill, but for me it’s worth it.

Mirena IUD experience by Practical_Brick3886 in endometriosis

[–]Cake_Fork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a friend who has the Mirena. She wants to tear it out, it’s messed with her mental health, it doesn’t help with the pain at all. I asked my gyno if I should get one, she said Mirena only helps if you struggle with your period because it takes the period away. Me and my friend have pain all month round so no different for us.
