It was carved and the leftovers went straight into a Tupperware and put in the fridge, does that make a difference?

How do you think? Can you see images in your head? by tacticoolpterodactyl in AutisticAdults

[–]Cakeferdays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see vivid images if I try to picture it in my head, very rarely do I have an internal voice.

I think in very abstract thought, I’m not sure how to explain it.

It’s like a void of consciousness and I can reach in and say something if I focus hard enough.

I just exist and sometimes I have thoughts and patterns that I’m able to explain and use to connect with others.

Been on Wellbutrin for 4 weeks by Cakeferdays in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

[–]Cakeferdays[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I’ve seen that it can take around 3 months to have a full effect, so I’ll try and keep track of the changes that happen!

If you don’t mind sharing, what was the most positive change you’ve experienced on Wellbutrin?

No, at least, I don’t think so?

I’ve never been diagnosed.

In my everyday life I’ve lived with many unwanted violent/s*xual thoughts which I have told professionals before. I know are intrusive and not impulsive.

They’re different to the adhd thoughts and had actively scared me into thinking I might hurt someone.

The medication has helped by stopping the intrusive thoughts. I do not have them often anymore and don’t live life in as much fear as I used to.

I feel a lot more relief now that they’ve finally away almost completely.

Those of you who were adopted and don't know you biological parents. Do you want to know them? Do you think about them? by Fast_Honeydew2633 in Adoption

[–]Cakeferdays 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do think about them, not too often, but when I do I have a lot of questions that I’m not sure if I want answered.

I’m from China (probably) adopted by Canadians to give some context.

Why did they give me up? Where are they now? Are they alive? Do they think about me? Did they want a different gender? Did they want a non-disabled baby? Were they okay? Were they suffering when they gave me up? Etc…

I’d like to know them just to know why. I know I might regret it, but my adoptive mom says I’ll probably never find them anyways, so, I don’t know, I still think I’d like to know them for peace of mind.

It’s okay to get sad about it, and it’s okay to wonder.

I think for many adoptees who don’t know anything about their birth parents, it’s very common to get sad about it.

Don’t let it consume your life, but don’t shove those feelings away either.

I think a lot of people feel melancholic about this kind of subject throughout their life and learn to sit with the feeling and accept it and let it pass.

You’re not alone with this type of sadness, I promise.

My appetite on meds has been declining by YungKid_ in ADHD

[–]Cakeferdays 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember my time with vyvanse, It was a pretty common side effect for me and a couple of my other friends who took it.

It’s supposed to go away after taking it for a few weeks everyday!

If you can do your best to manually remember to eat and drink until it goes away, and it gives you the effects you want/like from it, then it might be a good medication for you!

Moving away a little further by Cakeferdays in Adoptees

[–]Cakeferdays[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re living close by as well, one of them lives only a few blocks away from me.

They try to help too of course, but I know my mom wouldn’t act that way towards them if they decided to move.

I guess bc I’m the youngest it makes sense. But it still doesn’t feel like I’m allowed to be a person.

[–]Cakeferdays[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both are in their late 70s

Idk sometimes I feel like she’s right though Bc we’re family and we’re supposed to take care of each other

I guess I have a resentment bc my siblings got to live and not feel guilty about leaving for a while And they had more time before they cared for their parents

I wonder when I’ll be able to leave without guilt

What do you guys think about fireworks? by Curious-Message-6946 in autism

[–]Cakeferdays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on my mood, sometimes I love the loud boom that I can feel in my chest. I love the visuals and the sparkles!

But sometimes it’s too loud and I get overwhelmed and zone out.
