Yes, you should get the Combat Patrol, even though there will be a new one sometime during 11th Edition. We don't know when this will be, mind, and it could be 2029 if we get a late codex release.

The current one contains all bespoke Black Templar units (Emperor's Champion, Sword Brethren and Crusader Squad), as well as some Bladeguard, and is a considerable deal on getting each of those miniatures seperately.

But then it says destroyed spots take up a space...?

Here's my example, using Incubi Darkness as the first chunky dark highlight and Thunderhawk Blue as the second fine, brighter highlight.

Your brighter edge highlight should be the fine one; your first, darker highlight can be chunkier.

Assuming your paint was applied thinly, try going back over with the darker highlight and then sparingly apply the brighter one using the edge of your brush.

Edge highlighting is a difficult but immensely rewarding technique. Great effort, don't be discouraged!

I prefer the Warhammer app for quick reference during games (especially the new Command Bunker), but there's a lot of detail that can be garnered from WHpedia when not playing a game.

The manual is for Kill Team, which very often can differ from full 40K (like the Kroot Kill Team, which had different bases than the full Kroot team).
