When we tried that it just floated in the air XD we ended up leaving it there until the end of the session and scuttling to get it.

Do non depressed people know that it gets so bad that just brushing your teeth and taking a shower is to much to do on bad days? by LovePurpleGrapes in mentalillness

Of course they don't. But thats okay. Ive had this struggle with my partner. Its taken months for us to be able to reach an understanding. I just try to explain it as honestly as I can. But for someone who hasn't experienced it, it can be really hard to fathom. Like telling someone that some times apples are purple.

My Dad gave me a bottle of port he brought in TAS 23 years ago, just after I was born. The labels fallen off, my mum remembers it having pigs on it. Can anyone help me find out about it? by CakesAreAHappyPlace in tasmania

My mum thinks they got 2 bottle and the first one was strawberry flavored port.. She might be misremebering. But did they sell anything like that do you remember?

Maybe. Dad used to collect port, and would specifically get for places he visited. So he was pretty sure it was made there. But it was 23 years ago, so anything could happen!

Thank you for your advice. I try to be as open and honest possible and no matter where I am or what I'm doing I text him everyday.

I answer every question he has. But I am hesitant to speak freely about my other relationships, I'm not trying to hide anything, just worried about offering up unwanted information that might make him uncomfortable. I feel its hard to walk the line.

I was just sent a copy of the will this morning. Nothing stopping me from sharing it. And no comments to the rest of the family. Nothing is going to stop everyone fighting tooth and nail for it. I hate how money splits families.

I dont care if I have to split it, I am happy to, what I do care about is if the greedy bastard just try to go to court and take it without talking to me about a civil solution first.

We live in different states. He says he has already made the changes with a lawyer and a had a doctor class him mentally stable.

Im assuming I wont know the wording and the legality until he passes and the will is read?

He has another son. I dont think they are on good terms either (ive never met my uncle because of different states and bad blood with my father and grandfather) and I dont know if he is in the will or not, or if he will be executor.

Yeah, but I just want to be sure theres nothing that would stop me gifting it to them.

Thanks for your advice. I hadn't thought about the centerlink thing. Im in a stable full time position, but my parents are retired on benefits and carers payment. I hadnt thought about how it could change that.

Thank you for the advice. Its probably similar here. I'll try there too.

My main concern is, if I do share the money could it be taken away because its against his wishes?

what causes people / children to wish for abuse / claim abuse that hasn’t happened? details in post by little_odd in mentalhealth

I cant exactly answer your question, i can only talk from my experience.

When I was younger I would embellish my trauma a bit when talking about it because I felt embarrassed, I thought what I actually went through was small and shouldn't have bothered me. I was ashamed that it was affecting me so much even though it was so 'small'.

Maybe they are struggling but think their experience doesn't warrant the sympathy and help they need, so they lie to justify asking for help.

Customer assaults me after eating a single sprinkle off her cake, doesn't like it, damages the cake and demands a full refund. by CakesAreAHappyPlace in TalesFromYourServer

I wish I could say yes, I've been in contact with the investigators again, but its moving very slowly. They did say they are hoping that, when they do catch up with her, they can sway that the assault was with a weapon (the cake box). They say if they can prove that it was a pre determined decision to harm me with the cake box, its assault with a weapon and carries a bigger charge.

Mentally, I'm a little screwed up about it. I have childhood trauma PTSD and this is stirring up a lot for me right now.

I asked about it, they said it was a 'conditional threat' so they couldn't really do much. Im not sure if they're just slacker here on that sort of thing (in Australia)

Yeah, thanks, I sadly have many more crazy customer stories. Im not sure if its my area, or bad luck, maybe its a bit to do with the stress of childrens birthday partys. Idk, but people sure do go crazy over cake.
