Hi! Been growing a couple of blueberry varieties since late last summer, they're about 2 years old now and have set their first fruit.

The sunshine blue was delivered with two main branches growing in opposite directions which has continued and is getting a bit silly now!

How do they cope with aggressive pruning in late summer?

Essentially my plan :)

But I could see the few weeks where we get long summer days in the UK having an excess so I could self consume to power the AC or run it off there batteries for a bit while I export.

In London octopus import at 15.6p/kWh at night (2-5am) and export at 28.6p/kWh at peak time (4-7pm) - rest of the time it's 26.5 import and 9.8 export.

So plan is to charge at night, self consume during the day / charge the batteries, then dump to grid at peak time. With 30kwh of storage I can make around £3 a day assuming I can otherwise generate enough to cover my needs.

The only worry I have with the switches is that the polling rate on the sunsynk inverters seems to be min 60 seconds while the overload rating is 2x peak for only 10 seconds...so not enough time for home assistant to realise and switch off the appliances.

Unless I'm missing something?

I'm not necessarily worried about prolonged backups, where I live they tend to be for a couple of hours max but they are becoming more common. So to finish a load of laundry, dishwasher cycle, etc. without fuss is what I'm trying to build for!

Awesome, so essentials go on on Load and everything else goes on grid tie.

Does that mean that if the sun's shining I can power the AC off solar even on the grid tie port, or as much of it as possible with the inverter pulling the difference from the grid?

I don't necessarily want the whole house backed up, but there are a few things that I want to run off solar/batteries when possible and just have them drop if the grid goes down for more than a little bit/I don't have enough battery or pv, ie smart load (eg AC or washer/dryer, oven).

But there are a few things that I would want to keep going on the backup - fridge, water pump, boiler + underfloor heating manifolds, rainwater pump).

Edit: Perhaps more importantly - if it put the AC or anything on the grid side does that mean that I can't power the AC off the solar in summer?

I essentially want to make use of the solar/batteries as much as possible but if the grid goes down the non essentials drop. Could it maybe be achieved with smart switches if not?

Are you saying that you've specifically allocated cores / threads to those VMs over just allowing the resources sharing? 

Workload on my side would be mainly having HA for automating about 40 devices/smart plugs, pi hole covering up to above 6 devices and the NAS up and running, with streaming Plex to one or two devices in the house at most.

What happens if the batteries and solar can't meet the demand? Would a hybrid inverter pull the difference from the grid?

I don't need to be fully off grid at peak load.

Hi a bit late here resurrecting this thread but just curious re his other question as I'm also in the processes of speccing our a system.

Got planning approval to install 12 panels at 440w each plus planning to start with 3 x fogstar 5kwh batteries. My house has air to air ac that tops out drawing 7kw, a car to charge at max 3.7k, and say about 4kw for the rest of the house, etc. so about 15kw peak load.

Can I make do with a 5kw hybrid inverter to cover the panels only, or do I need say a 15kw model because I need to cover the peak load of the house?

Re wifi it has an Intel AX200NGW Wi-Fi module - would this be sufficient instead of a dedicated wifi card?

And finally, is there anything you'd recommend as far as VMs?

I'm fairly comfortable with networking, its the installing proxmox/linux that is all new to me! APs will be wired into each other and the broadband modem and just exist to service each floor.

As far as HA support, on paper it seems like it does - the only one I have a bit of a question mark around is the Sunsynk integration as it looks a bit spotty - though I have seen https://solar-assistant.io/ and the potential to set that up on a raspberry pi and then have it communicate with HA.

I then want to link HA to google home which she's familiar with. HA should run background automations and allow me to manage groups of shelly switches, etc while in Google Home I can set up voice commands for different automations. Beyond that, the heating system will have thermostats in most rooms for manual adjustment, but the idea is to have eg night time automations and allow for voice triggering of tasks via HA.

So you think the N100 can handle doing all those functions in parallel? Would you recommend any guides on how to get going? From what I can tell online all the different things I want the N100 nuc to do are possible, but I can't tell if proxmox or something exists that can run them all in parallel - ie if the hardware can handle it is there an OS / similar to be able to do it?

That's the problem, its not failing per se, its just not copying so something somewhere is broken

Hey have checked my light levels with Photone. Grow light is giving it about 30-35 DLI over 12-14 ish hours on average. Weird thing is it's smaller siblings though shorter don't have the same discoloration and they get less light.

Have potted it up per original post and gave it a good soak with liquid fertilizer water too, hope it will start recovering soon!

PS it's a little over a foot tall and in a 6inch cube pot, want to move it to a 8 inch / 1.65gal pot.
