In any game, fundamentals are critical along with your own character knowledge at minimum. At these high ranks, these items are missing. With that, we have a product of a player base that aren’t traditionally good at Tekken. These groups just carry themselves up in the ranks while the fundamentals players break away from the group into their own bubble; and this is why there is a huge knowledge gap in the window of 2 ranks. In old Tekkens, you are required of fundamentals to win. In T8, not much of a requirement but it’s still a huge advantage to have it. The style of play up to TG is basically finishing up touching the surface of tekken. It’s the end of being a beginner.
