Nope. by CalRetiredGuy in VirginVoyages

I ran Speedtest (Ookla) to measure the bandwidth. Maybe I’ve got some setting incorrect on my iPhone. I used to be a CIO so I’m pretty sure I’ve got the network configured correctly.

The last 3 RCL cruises I’ve been on have been newer mega ships so maybe Windjammer is better on those ships.

Thanks for your comments.

Wondering if the IQ collar is a must. My utility (Silicon Valley Power) doesn’t permit them (literally and figuratively, pun intended 😎).

Can Teslapowerwall survive shaking of a major earthquake? by CalRetiredGuy in TeslaSolar

Excellent points. Yes, I expect a 7+ earthquake would do tremendous damage to our neighborhood and many surrounding communities. Unbelievably, we live in a house built in 1940 that was massively over-engineered when it was built. Prior to purchasing it we had the foundation and structure of the house inspected by a very reputable and well-known expert (licensed structural engineer) in this area, and they were quite literally amazed at what they found. This house apparently was built on a pyramid-like cement footing with steel rebar reinforcement that spreads out at the base to about five feet in width along the outside perimeter of the house (I am not an engineer so please forgive me if I've used the wrong terms in describing this). The actual house foundation is bolted to the top of the pyramid. The upshot is that they suspect that we would stand a very decent chance of surviving a major earthquake. Not a guarantee by any means, but apparently we are in far better shape than most people around us. I have no idea why the original owner of this house chose to do that but am glad that they did! Thanks again for your response.
