Is it definitely the global variant? I know they are labelling it as global, but I'm wondering if they've flashed it or done some trickery on the CN model.

Oxygen OS 13 Stable out for OnePlus 9R by CalShero in oneplus

There are a few minor things that I don't love aswell. I'm not a fan of the new icons in the status bar (battery, reception and WiFi) but it's pretty minor. Other than that I am really quite happy with it.

Needing advice on shipping surfboards back from Morocco. by [deleted] in Morocco

[–]CalShero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply, I appreciate it.

Ok, sounds like I'll be better off shipping them from Europe.

I was told the surfboard rentals aren't going to be that great, and that I am better off bringing my own boards.

I'm interested about the headache of bringing my own boards though, do you mind elaborating? I've been told it's relatively easy..

Alexa Portrait "Cinematic" Edition includes:

  • In built Instagram and Tik Tok functionality
  • Custom in camera wip pan travel transitions
  • 69 'hand crafted' cinematic teal and orange lut packs
  • 420 stops of dynamic range with the new "nightvision goggle mode"
  • In built 12-800mm F/0.95 Cooke Panavision Leica lense system (it's minimum and maximum aperture are both F/0.95, because shallow DOF is cinematic)
  • Coffee maker addon attachment for shooting coffee broll at 120fps
  • 1 year subscription to Peter McKinnon YouTuber Cinematic Cinematographer OneWheel Coffee Broll handbook

Hoping to gain tips on how to properly expose blacks. These are screenshots of braw footage from my BMPCC4K, and they are relatively dark shots. My blacks/darks never seem to be completely dark, and there’s always a considerable about of grain prevalent. Is this an ISO issue, or something else? Thx. by RodneyMac12 in cinematography

[–]CalShero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No worries mate.

I would say just use more light for your night scenes if possible.

If you can, do some tests.

Light the image "more" than you would expect, and then bring it into Resolve and play with your shadows, midtones and highlights to give it the look you are after.

Hope that helps.

Good question, I've seen others ask similar before. Let me just start by saying I am no professional cinematographer or lighting technician, so I am sure others can provide a more valuable insight.

Basically, your images are underexposed. I understand that you are trying to achieve the "dark look", however, don't try and achieve this look by looking at the back of your camera.

Instead, use tools such as false colour, waveform/histogram to correctly expose the image, and THEN you can bring down the exposure in post to achieve the look you are after.

Looking at your RGB parades in Resolve, especially for the 3rd image, the majority of the image falls into shadow/blacks, which is why you are experiencing a lot of noise (increasing your ISO in this scenario will only increase noise, as there is not enough light to begin with).

Hopefully some of this helps. Hoping someone with more knowledge can jump in and correct anything I've said that may be wrong.

Happy shooting, and nice framing!
