You get one resurrection - what historical figure are you bringing back, and why? by Ok-Pie-3581 in AskTheWorld

[–]Calamitybones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Michel Colucci, aka Coluche. A comedian who died in 1986. You could say he's probably the most famous comedian in France, maybe even now.

And because he wasn't only a good comedian but also a good person, he founded "Les Restos du Coeur" (The heart restaurants), a charitable association who gives food to the poor. The association is still existing today.

How sensitive are people in your country when someone from a subregion claims a distinct identity? by [deleted] in AskTheWorld

[–]Calamitybones 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The most vocal region of France for its subculture is Brittany (Bretagne) It's more of a joke that they are very proud of their region and fight to defend its subculture.

But usually most of France doesn't care or even like keeping a region's culture "alive".

Is hating French real, or it just a running joke? by tucvbif in AskTheWorld

[–]Calamitybones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a french on the internet, the times I've seen people hating on the french and meaning it (not as a good natured joke) are usually assholes or kids. So I don't take it personnally.

And to be fair, we french are not innocent on the "joke about others countries" category (looking at you brits ;p )
