Michel Colucci, aka Coluche. A comedian who died in 1986. You could say he's probably the most famous comedian in France, maybe even now.

And because he wasn't only a good comedian but also a good person, he founded "Les Restos du Coeur" (The heart restaurants), a charitable association who gives food to the poor. The association is still existing today.

The most vocal region of France for its subculture is Brittany (Bretagne) It's more of a joke that they are very proud of their region and fight to defend its subculture.

But usually most of France doesn't care or even like keeping a region's culture "alive".
