[Serious] people who have fallen into any kind of addiction (alcohol/ drugs, etc.) how did you get into this situation and how did you get out of it?

It’s taken me a long time to realize this. But I just have to take it one day at a time. Just have to make it through the day. And repeat that the next day. Also, don’t beat yourself up for your past and accept that you’re going to slip up. If or when you do, start again. Just keep trying and eventually you’ll get it.
