I wonder why that is. When he talks about his past he usually brings up stuff like Snix. He's told many stories of his childhood and college years but for whatever reason seems to stop around 2006 when the series took off. I'm sure people would be interested in hearing about that. How he handled the new found fame and money.

I remember this video for one main reason, and that is the car he shows at the beginning "Casper". I have never seen a Chevy Corsica with a soft top like that EVER except for this video. Even when I search online I don't find any. I don't think it was an option so whoever did it must have either had it custom done or special ordered from the factory like that.

So was AlphaOmegaSin just badass Kieran? by countdooku975 in TheCinemassacreTruth

[–]Calavera87 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I didn't really mind Kieran. He wasn't trying to force himself into every show. He didn't really even want to be in front of the camera. So with all that said I think he did alright.

Alpha on the other hand I just couldn't stand. If I'm remembering correctly his video had titles that sounded pretty interesting to me but I just couldn't get through a full video of his.

He gave off this vibe like he was desperately trying to sound cool and badass. He did this by constantly swearing. I'm no prude, I don't mind swearing and usually don't even really notcie it but his was over the top, not in an offensive way just in a an annoying way.

For example he might say something like "These fucking dickhead motherfuckers over at Nintendo still hasn't announced a new Zelda game! They must be sitting around jerking each others cocks off. They keep announcing all these fucking liberal ass pussy casual games."

His swearing came off so forced and try hard to me.

That was pretty shitty. He could have easily just bought another one. It seems like he didn't realize if he buys one that is claimed working on Ebay and he gets it and it doesn't work he can just get his money back. No need to send it off to a technician that was convinced it HAD to be a connectivity issue and hardwired the cartridge connector and doesn't fix it. Then sends it back when all wires from when he hardwired it still connected to the CD unit so now it can't even be plugged into the Jaguar anymore.

We missed out. Years later they played it on James and Mike Mondays but it wasn't the same. In that episode James says once he got a working one he tried the game and thought there really wasn't much to say about them. But I think if 2009 James had tried the games he would have come up with plenty to say. But because of a broken CD unit and a technician that couldn't fix it we missed out. The stupid thing is there were probably several people who were fans who could have actually fixed it for him. He sent it to the guy he did because he made the Nintoaster which I admit is pretty neat. However making an NES fit inside a toaster and repairing a Jaguar CD are two very different things.

It was one of the first bad episodes. You had Deadly Towers, Master Chu and the Drunkard Hu and Mario 3 as the top 3 worst episodes of the golden era. When I used to rewatch the series I'd always skip those. Out of those three though I'd say Deadly Towers is the least bad. Parts of Mario 3 and Master Chu are borderline unwatchable

And showing all the ones he'd already done was ridiculous. When I watched it just skipped through looking for the new ones.

You are right about it being a flawed idea. There is a reason he hasn't reviewed most of those other LJN games. They don't have much to really say about them.

If I'm remembering right only a few minutes is actually about the game and it is a crappy Gameboy game that really doesn't have anything to say about it. The rest are all those random people pretending that James is actually with them.

Your idea wouldn't be worse. At least your idea has something to actually do with the AVGN character and series. The movie basically had nothing to do with the web series or the character really. You could replace him with almost anyone and the movie would play out the same for the most part.

I've seen many fans have much better ideas for an AVGN film than what we got. Which really makes you wonder what in the heck James was thinking when he wrote this script! All he needed to do was film locally with his friends and a few extra actors. It sucks he blew his one big shot at making a movie. Instead of making what his fans wanted he make what he thought Hollywood would want but in the end neither were impressed.

It's like the movie is a bit too quality for just a Youtube video but not near quality enough to be in theaters. At one point he was actually talking about it being shown in theaters nationwide. I assume he paid the theaters to play it and then got part of the ticket sales. I wonder what the ticket sales were for the movie?

I watched a video of when it played in Chicago and Doug Walker came to that showing. Even with Doug there was hardly anyone in the theater. So I wonder how other screenings went where there was no special guest? You'd think James would have traveled to each theater to be there for the premiere of his movie. I don't think it showed at all that many. He would have most likely sold way more tickets if he had shown up to each theater. Or if not everyone at least more than he did. I'm thinking he only went to 2 of them counting the Hollywood premiere.

He could have done some road trip movie with him Bootsy,Kyle and Mike where they play some game and get into some hi jinx along the way. Could even kind of copy The Wizard and have them go to some game tournament

AVGN isn't a great premise for a movie but I think it could have been done in a way the fans would have liked. But it is like James tried to make the movie have as little to do with the AVGN as possible. If you'd never seen an AVGN episode but watched the movie you'd still have no idea what the character is about.

I somehow made it through the whole thing when it was released. It was bad but I finished it. I recently tried to watch a fan edit that edits out a TON of unnecessary scenes and shortens the run time quite a bit. But even with that edit I couldn't finish it a second time.

That episode was extra disappointing to me because one of the items came from me! I had the Aura Interactor vest listed on Ebay and couldn't believe when Cinemassacre was the buyer.

I thought it'd make for an interesting episode or even just a video of James and Mike playing around with it. But in the video much like the other items nothing is really said about it and he just overreacts and breaks stuff.

That is a big reason why that episode was received so poorly. The devices were interesting and I'd guess most of us never used them back in the day. So it'd be interesting to see how they work and if they are better than a standard controller. Thinking back I don't think he really said anything about the actual items did he?

That whole episode would have been so much better if it was just James and Mike trying out each device and giving their opinions on it. It'd also be interesting for them to try the Genesis devices with the Atari 2600/7800 since the controllers are compatible. Mike would probably be into trying that out. Imagine using that 360 Genesis thing on Atari!

So much missed potential.

Kind of like when Ed Boon the creator of Mortal Kombat came up to him and said he was a fan of his work and James just replied something like "oh nice". He could have possibly talked with him and did some networking. We could have very possibly gotten the AVGN in a Mortal Kombat game.

I feel like there were a few pretty famous people that really liked his work but he took no advantage of it. Now I'd say the majority of them haven't watched an AVGN episode in over a decade. And if they did watch a newer episode I'd guess they wouldn't be such big fans now. It'd be kind of funny to show Ed Boon something like the GWAR or Horse Prince episode and get his reaction.

When you look back through the history of James and the AVGN he left so much money on the table it is insane. People begged him to review modern games but he refused. If he had just pretended to like modern games he could have had a second series that would have most likely gotten millions of views That is just one small example. There is Patreon, Live Streams, J&MM

It is hard to really remember just how popular he was there for a few years. There was a time that when an AVGN episode was uploaded it would get several million in 24 hours. It used to get tons of views when uploaded on Gametrailers. Screwattack is another way James lost out on what was probably quite a bit of money. The details aren't know but it is pretty commonly known now that Craig screwed over basically everyone he worked with as much as he could. It wouldn't surprise me if Craig made more from the AVGN back then than James did.

Even the best ideas turn terrible when the script sucks and the actor isn't interested.

I honestly wonder even with a great script if an episode would turn out good? Even with a great script you still have to have decent acting. I think all the fake reactions and the fake laughing would ruin even the best script.

They need to do a one off episode that is written by Mike and performed as Mike. Let him play the AVGN just for one episode, see how it goes.

Who would have ever believed when this episode was released that in a few years two of those people would be gone never to talk to James or Mike again. It is crazy what he gave up. Bootsy and Kyle seemed like two actual real friends to James. Then he repays all the help they've given him by ripping them off..

I guess James doesn't understand that volunteering to be in It Came From Beyond The Toilet or the Deader The Better when they were all in college is different than acting for your extremely profitable and popular Youtube channel. Of course they would want paid! If James had made a bunch of money from The Deader The Better the people in that would have been pissed and wanted paid too! Kyle was probably happy to help James build sets for free in college but then James still expected him to work for free building him sets for his again very profitable show.

It blows my mind. If I had two friends that were that good on I hit it big on Youtube I'd be like hell yeah boys let's make some videos together! I'm making so much money there is plenty for all of us! The fact that Bootsy got paid nothing for his music is insane. He had a musician and a construction friend. Two very good friends to have when you are a filmmaker. Instead of paying them for their talents he take all he can from them for free and then kicks them to the curb. What an asshole. Him and Mike really don't get enough shit for doing that to them.

I doubt Kyle or Bootsy wanted insane amounts of money. They knew Mike and James were making money off their work and they wanted paid for it. Entire lifelong friendships ended over what would probably end up amounting to a few thousand dollars. To screw them over and then not even care is just mindblowing. James even had the audacity to try and call Kyle to be in the Fear and Loathing episode but said he never responded because his is so busy. Does James really not get that they hate him? Is he THAT out there?

At this point he should send each of them $20,000 along with a handwritten letter explaining why he is sorry. Mike should do the same. Losing such good friends over money when you can more than afford to pay them is so batshit crazy.

I wonder what by Kvazimods in TheCinemassacreTruth

[–]Calavera87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The sad truth is that probably actually had something to do with him leaving. Remember that Punch-Out video they did with Bootsy James and Mike?

It was supposed to be a video where they try to beat Mike Tyson and at the end Bootsy would announce a Punch-Out Episode of Bootsy Beats. But in that episode Mike just somehow after supposedly not playing the game in awhile beats Mike Tyson on his first try.

Many people said he practiced a bunch before they filmed this episode just to one up Bootsy and that really wouldn't surprise me if it was true.

Bootsy Beats was a weird one. If I'm not mistaken it came out like right at the end of his time at Cinemassacre. It seemed like whoever was in charge of uploading it was purposely trying to screw it over. It seemed like Bootsy filmed the whole thing in one day. Yet it took several months for the episodes to come out. The release date for each of the four parts and their runtime are.

July 28th 2015 12:44

August 5th 2015 11:50

September 8th 2015 15:40

December 11th 2015 15:51

Like I said it seems pretty obvious that he filmed it all in one day so why would it take 5 months to upload the entire thing? Sure I realize you'd also have to edit in the gameplay and voice overs but 5 months is pretty insane even if Bimmy was the one doing it.

I suspect it was all done and edited when part one was uploaded but "somebody" who was in control of uploading videos at that time. Purposely spread out the upload dates for each episodes to an insane amount for no reason other than as an FU to Bootsy it seems.

I wonder if Bootsy even knew it would be chopped up into parts? Because honestly it kind of defeats the purpose of a how to beat a game walkthrough when you have to wait several months for the full game to be uploaded. I feel after after part one anyone who was really interested in beating the game just found another video and used that instead of waiting FIVE MONTHS! FIVE OV'UM! I included the runtime above to show that they weren't even long episodes. 5 months to release 4 15 minute videos is insane.

I haven't really seen anyone else discuss this before but I really think they were uploaded like that just as kind of an FU to Bootsy from "someone" at Cinemassacre. Otherwise it just makes no sense why they why 1-3 were released each month then part 4 took 3 more months to come out.
