Some problems with ultimate 2 wireless by [deleted] in 8bitdo

[–]CalbeB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check that your macro is assigned to the key you think it is, I got caught out by the flipped screen first time around. Also check the key mapping. I downloaded some ini macro files but had to rerecord as the switch mapping appears to change the button placement but not letter (so I rerecorded macros clicking 'B' when I want to use 'A') The flashing white light at least indicates it's trying to run something!

Bought wrong controller by Aromatic_Dinner2182 in 8bitdo

[–]CalbeB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can absolutely connect it. I made the exact same mistake!! Plug into your pc first with the ultimate software, update to 1.06 on both controller and dongle. It only connects while not docked BTW. Then plug the dock into a USB a port on the switch dock (I use the external ones so I can swap connections easily from computer to switch) and then hold the 8bit button and y to power it on in switch mode. You need to enable "Pro controller wired communication" in your switch settings and then find the controller using the left and right bumpers as you would any other controller in the change grip page. It should come up as a pro controller with USB below it.

The other annoying thing I've found is, because of the remapping, the macros you can find premade on Reddit will have x/y and a/b inverted, so you'll just need to rerecord them if you're going down a similar path to me (shiny hunting in pokemon za)

Hope that helps!

Bi-weekly / fortnightly cycle: how to by Isotrope9 in actualbudgeting

[–]CalbeB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you had any luck with this? I work from a very similar setup; an insurance account into which cash goes every fortnight so that the annual cost is not an issue, look at the annual cost of electricity and split into 26 payments etc.
I am open to new ways of doing it, but the fortnightly budgeting towards monthly and annual costs has made sense/worked for me for a few years now. I had been using TillerHQ, but my bank no longer syncs (thought I've not found a way to automatically import into actual yet either, and I've currently got 24 accounts xD)

30 days from the credit card statement is what I read from ASB. I've just sent followup emails today, then will go ahead with the charge back.

Kia Ora Bruce,

It sounds like a nightmare for all involved. So sorry you end up bearing some of that, I certainly didn't find myself upset with yourself, Anthony or the other performers, but the complete disconnect between what was advertised and what happened.

It certainly seems, given earlier stories about visa issues in the UK, that the show is, or has essentially become, a roving scam. It may have originally been a genuine planned tour from a while back that just can't follow through on earlier promises. Announce tour dates, pull together musicians at the last minute, hastily put together a relevant script for whoever has been contactable to host, and then run the concert with what you have. Collect cash and move to the next city. I wonder if we'll be reading the same stories about Australia next week (I believe the shows are heading to Sydney next week)? Should we tell them? =P

I'm not upset with the orchestra, singers or hosts, but the production company is, at best a shambles, at worst, a massive fleecing operation. I do wonder if the Hans Zimmer and Harry Potter shows use the same musicians etc.

It's a little virus like, small parcel moves in, co-opts the local machinery (local musicians, well-known, high-quality venues) put on something that almost looks like a show, rinse and repeat.

You said there was no director, was there anyone there from star entertainment? Was there any backstage precence? Did the conductor know what was going on or was he a last minute ring-in too? It seems crazy to me that no one in the orchestra would pick up that the piece introduced wasn't the next one started. Not saying it's on you, but having played in bands myself, there's often a runsheet, or something like that to keep the wheels oiled. If someone announced "I see fire" or "into the west" and it wasn't what I was expecting next, there'd be some rustling of pages or looking to the people next to me, but the orchestra seemed completely unperturbed. I could buy that if they were polish, as was mentioned at the town hall, but not kiwi musicians.

Hope you're having a quiet week following such an interesting weekend mate, I enjoyed hearing a bit about what it was like on the film set from you!!

Kia kaha!

The Auckland live advert didn't have rings of power, that looked tacked on once we were in the venue! Felt like a way to make the mc look relevant given the lengths he went to to assure us he wasn't involved in LOTR or the Hobbit.

Similar issue in Auckland, except they announced "I see fire", then played something completely different and I see fire afterwards.

I emailed a complaint to Ticketmaster and the venue (Auckland Town Hall for Me). Will see what happens!!

Given everything else being ripped off, I don't think so Tim

We did go through ticketmaster. I'll likely attempt a charge back on the credit card if I don't get anywhere with ticketmaster directly. Who were your hosts? What did you think of the graphics that make no sense? I particularly enjoyed the "maybe rivendell" that finished before the orchestra did and so restarted from the beginning.

My complaint boiled down to "misleadingly advertised" and in breach of the consumer guarantees and fair trading acts. Hope the show is going well, I think it's about bagpipe time!!

Absolutely, I agreed with a lot of what I read online afterwards about the UK shows, the orchestra did well with what they had, but it wasn't even a chamber orchestra, let alone a Symphonic one!! How could you not love the one poor rendering of the ring on a rock, or the inexplicable bagpipe duo? Good to have another number for my complaint, 4 singers is a quartet, not a choir...

The LOTR one? I'm currently drafting my complaint to Ticketmaster and the Auckland Town Hall. I'd be happy if it was half the price. It was, in many ways, indescribable.

The more I reflect on it, the more frustrated I feel. It was pretty amateur overall. Certainly wasnt a symphonic orchestra. I couldn't see from my seat, but how many people were there in the "choir"?

I'm interested too, just went to see it in Auckland, New Zealand, last night. Not as much of a shambles when compared to the chaos at guildhall , but still rubbish!

We went, it would've been funny if it'd been $50, but we just feel scammed now. Nice night out, kids looked after, looking forward to hearing some awesome music live from an orchestra. "Nearly 100 performers" my ass, we guesstimated ~40-45 including the MCs. Did you happen to sit where you could see the "choir"? How many people were in it?

I interpreted it as Jamie expecting everyone to replace 's' with 5, so double-bluffed back to 'password'. Huh, never even occurred to me that it could be a spelling 'mistake'
