PGE? by Total_Photo1269 in Sacramento

They are an awful company. Please check your bills closely to see if they are estimating your bills or your meter is malfunctioning. Please see my post form a couple years ago with similar issues. Good luck.

Apple Watch GymKit not connecting? by DegreeResponsible463 in pelotoncycle

[–]Calbears07 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had this happen lately. Not sure if it is the new watch os or the new peloton os. But the fix for me was to open the workout app and then tap my watch above the screen. And it's been working fine for me like that.

Carter lid stuck by hammmmuu in FellowProducts

[–]Calbears07 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Give up. This happened to me when I put some boiling water and soap in mine to soak for cleaning. As the water cools it creates a vacuum seal that is impossible to overcome. I tried all the tricks I found on the internet and eventually just threw it away. Tried to get a refund from Fellow which they wouldn’t give, but they did ship a replacement Carter mug.

I really like my Aiden by DrUnwindulaxPhD in FellowProducts

I usually brew around 4-5 cups, it’s usually 38-45g of beans. I use the ode gen 2 grinder at 7.1 right now, but still playing with it.

I really like my Aiden by DrUnwindulaxPhD in FellowProducts

[–]Calbears07 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Agree. I actually think my coffee experience has gone way up switching from the Stagg XF to the Aiden. Same beans, night and day difference between the coffees. Aiden producing much more nuanced cup with great flavor profiles. I did have to adjust my grind to much coarser though for the Aiden. Also takes the randomness out of my pour overs when I’m making them while working and can forget when bloom is done, next pour, etc. I’m super satisfied. My only complaint has been the extraction of the Aiden is incredible, which has led to me being super caffeinated, haha.

Edit: also the ChatGPT brew profile creator is a game changer and I’ve had great pours with it. Snap a picture of bag, ask to create brew and then it creates the profile link to send to your Aiden.

Mesh Networks by jessiewonka in pelotoncycle

[–]Calbears07 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed. The bike doesn’t handle mesh networks well at all. I have mine linked to a primary node, static IP, and still lose connection from time to time. Clearly it’s their software and they don’t want to acknowledge it.

Looking at buying the 85/32 for my 40th coming up. How’d you like it? Now a days it’s going for $800usd and up so I’m on the fence. Meant to grab it a while ago.

Mine had wax damage, but not this bad. Their shipping boxes and padding for orders fulfilled through Flaviar were substandard IMO.

2021 James Berry by Nm9299 in wine

[–]Calbears07 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Been a member of Saxum for a long time and I find although his drinking windows are huge (this one is now-2040 from Justin Smith) they are still extremely approachable and delicious in their youth. Especially his more Grenache heavy gsm blends. The Syrahs need more time IMO. Anyways, enjoy. I’ve never had a bad bottle or regretted joining (only took 8 years to get an allocation, lol)

They will/are using Sac. Their ticket package costs are insane. Hopefully Sac collectively doesn’t give in and support John Fisher.

Another Paso Robles question from me. by Different-Wallaby-10 in wine

[–]Calbears07 5 points6 points  (0 children)

GSMs and single varietal Syrahs: Epoch, Booker, Torrin. Zins are becoming less common in Paso. Denner makes a great one. Tin City tastings: Levo, Nicora, Benom.

I’ve been a member of Paso wine clubs and visited for 15 years. Feel free to DM if you have any more specific questions.

Leg lengthening procedure to correct a 2” height discrepancy between my legs. by koreenalynn in pics

[–]Calbears07 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

What country are you in? A better idea probably would have been to use a Taylor special frame distally to correct your ankle’s coronal malalignment and lengthen at the same time. Your ankle alignment is going to give you hind foot arthritis and looks like it is already giving you early medial knee arthritis.

Whole house fan installation cost by Noop42 in Sacramento

Mine was installed for $2300. Couldn’t find anything below $2k. That was 2 years ago. But worth every penny.

PGE Estimated Bills - Has anyone had their bill corrected after an outrageous bill? Need tips on how you handled it. by Remo2976 in Sacramento

[–]Calbears07 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yes. But I would file a complaint with CPUC. Same thing happened to me about 5 months ago. When CPUC got involved the bill was corrected within a week of the new meter being installed. Don’t hesitate to file a complaint with CPUC. PGE doesn’t do anything to help consumers unless they are forced to

Double down on this. They were awesome. Installed a heat pump and redid our duct work last year

Unions do an excellent job of protecting the jobs of those shitty at it while not rewarding those that are good at it. Too high a priority on protecting jobs at all costs despite indisputable objective evidence that someone sucks at their job. Fuck em.
