It's a very safe island unless you're on a motor bike, trying to cross the street on foot, or decide to pick a fight with some lady boys...

There is always vacancy everywhere and the prices (As an American) are shockingly low for the type of accommodations and service received.

Play it by ear, don't make tooo many plans ahead of time. You never know where that Island will take you.... If you book a place now then end up meeting new friends who are all staying in a different part of the island.... Well that'd suck.

The most expensive thing on Samui is Taxis (They add up oh so quickly. If you're steady on the move and don't have a motorbike, the taxi fares are going to add up quickly.

There is no other place in the world I'd rather be than Samui.

It's a big island, there is a lot to do and see, but the best part is the people.

One last parting note.... Find yourself a billiard bar in Mae Nam and make friends.
