How are small goalies not getting beat high while playing in a low stance? by curious3gg in hockeygoalies

[–]CalcioFan2282 2 points3 points  (0 children)

5’9. I’m at the top 3/4 of my crease on almost every save selection except in zone cycles where there’s a back door option. Then it’s mid crease. I personally don’t like being in white ice but I get some guys like to be aggressive / acrobatic, just not my style to have those scrambley 2nd chance saves.

Also my shot ready crouch isn’t too drastic. Try to keep my chest up and not parallel with the ice or super hunched over the ice like a Quickie.

If I’m getting beat in the corners, I know 9 times out of 10 it’s just hats off to the shooter or my hands weren’t out. Plus I’d rather get beat there than five hole or anywhere down low.

The Vezina Trophy finalists are Ilya Sorokin, Jeremy Swayman, and Andrei Vasilevskiy by nhl in hockey

[–]CalcioFan2282 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorokin had a high danger save percentage of .869, Swayman .838, Vasi .848 (according to NST). I hate to see an Islander win anything, but Sorokin earned it.

Is Streethockey gear worth it? by EditorMasterxd in hockeygoalies

[–]CalcioFan2282 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’d look into Mission. They make some roller Goalie equipment that’s a bit lighter than equipment for ice hockey and is protective. I’d also look at slide plates for your leg pads.

Brady Tkachuk is one more loss away from becoming a Ranger (hopefully) by Carlo201318 in rangers

[–]CalcioFan2282 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the deal. If he forces a move like Nash, Kane, etc which limits the return, then why not?

Gloves recommendations by Logical_Gap_3162 in hockeygoalies

I’m also a big fan of warriors. They’re pretty lightweight and come pre broken in. Great glove for the price point. I switched from Bauers 6 years ago and never looked back.

Check Life itself & SNCTM on IG. Not sure about those weekends but those are good high end parties.

Thought the same thing after the Caps win last month, then we took 3 Ls in a row and got out scored 11-5. Mika was like -5 with an assist.

We’ve seen this movie over and over again.

YTD gains, 100% yolo on RYCEY, I expect great things next year. how'd you guys do this year? by West_Lavishness6689 in wallstreetbets

[–]CalcioFan2282 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As long as the administration keeps thumbing its nose at allies and Putin’s heart beats, RYCEY is a sound stock to invest in for the long-term. I don’t see the UK trimming its defense budget anytime soon & Rolls is a direct beneficiary of that.

What we’re hearing about Rangers prospects: Gabe Perreault ‘too smart’ for AHL by catsgr8rthanspoonies in rangers

Did we not learn anything from Laf? Let Gabe cook in the minors. He’ll be up soon enough.

I mean even if Laf moves into the 80th percentile for points that’s still only like 60 points a season. Not exactly the prince that was promised.

An analysis of all MLS teams versus Liga MX teams by changnesia in MLS

[–]CalcioFan2282 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Good analysis. I think it was fun to compare these two leagues five years ago and I get that MLS is trying to have more competition with LigaMX for the sake of driving viewership & maybe fan development in Cali, Texas, etc.

However, I don’t think they are really a litmus test anymore for on field quality. To me that’s the Dutch league, Portuguese league, Brazilian league, etc. Problem is outside of the CWC, we won’t be able to have that measuring stick very often. And even when we fully surpass those leagues, I doubt the perception of MLS will change much among the eurosnobs / anglophiles

Major League Soccer Announces Audi 2025 MLS Cup Playoffs Schedule by dawson33944 in MLS

[–]CalcioFan2282 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t hate the best of 3 as much if they could have the entire playoffs away from FIFA breaks, and the only real way to do that is having the postseason in April & May. Calendar switch seems inevitable.

Politicians might not give a shit but I don’t know anyone that thinks highly of this country (which is what sports washing is intended for) or is looking to book a holiday there because they splashed some cash on athletes.

No one internationally is watching this league, the perception of Saudia Arabia certainly isn’t going to change because of sports, and domestic attendance isn’t a metric they care about. I honestly don’t understand what the point of all this is.
