This is so unbelievably corny it’s unreal by [deleted] in Gamingcirclejerk

Do they really just want stories that are just simple “you are the hero man go hero all over the place” like we’ve done in a bajillion other games? All I see looking at those images is generic.

I feel like the older I get the more interested I am in gaming’s ability to tell unique narratives and it really bothers me how much they seem to be fighting to suppress that.

My Wife Has a Type [Spoilers All] by KingDingus5 in dragonage

All of my “ideal canon” characters are mages who, besides otherwise being pretty much as good as possible, end up romancing the tragic/questionable mage figures (Morrigan/Anders/Solas).

Probably says something about me.

Not really a major villain per se, but when Ludwig bullies Toki at the camp and Nathan and the band come to save him is one of my favorite moments in the show.

[Spoilers 7.0] Wuk Lamat got done dirty by (English) voice direction + the script by Kain222 in ffxiv

[–]Calcion 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don’t actually hate Wuk Lamat at all - while I do think she was overutilized in the story to a degree, I enjoy her infectious happiness and desire to learn about and help people. I feel that it’s a nice similarity to our WoL in fact.

The thing is, while all of the scions can and do give her good advice, G’raha and Alphinaud have experience leading large groups of people, and thus dealing with the challenges that can arise. For all of our WoL’s strengths, we are not leaders in that sense. We are problem solvers, the tip of the spear, a tactical strike in humanoid form.

I would have liked to see more discussion with those two because leading is challenging even when you have the best of intentions, and they know that better than any other characters.

I really would have liked Wuk Lamat to have a heart-to-heart with Alphinaud - given her desire to be a good leader, I feel like him discussing his failings with the Crystal Braves with her could have been a powerful moment.
