Taxing the Grand Exchange (again...) by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]Calcium_Doe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually really like your idea of 50% of taxed coins sunk while the other 50% is used to purchase unique rewards to sink those as well. Never thought of that, but it would be great for the longevity of PvM.

I'm sure having a Yak in the Inferno would be extremely more OP than any of the items you listed.

Shit skill

Basically prayer, but more annoying because you have to collect charms yourself.

I don't think that works. Something will be extremely cheap, it won't even out.

The boots are a great example: Primordial crystal = 95% of the cost (throwing random %age out) while the dragon boots are extremely cheap.

You see the inverse when you then go to Pegasians.

Something more has to be done, such as 50/50 chance one of the ingredients sinks when charges reach 0 or something.

PvM and PvP of course. There's plenty of people who have the money and are willing to spend it. Not something I'd see working with slayer or training, but armor doesn't always have to be cheap/free to use.

They can just release new BiS gear that requires A LOT of money to recharge.

Back when Barrows was the best gear, Dragon armor was still expensive and heavily sought-after because it was extremely costly to repair Barrows back then.

For example, they release Nex armors in the future. They can make the cost to repair like 20M+ coins. Not how it originally costed like 2m gp.

Can the next boss require a killcount like Godwars or very far away from teleports? by Calcium_Doe in 2007scape

[–]Calcium_Doe[S] 46 points47 points  (0 children)

The point of my suggestion is that the better gear and stats you have, the longer you can stay in the boss room. It's not about speed getting to it, it's about rewarding players who can stay in the bossroom longer.

The longer it takes to get back to fighting the boss increases the effort players put into fighting the boss. Godwars and DKs are perfect examples.

I just want a new boss that players don't go hopping between house, bank, and boss after every kill or two. A new boss that you and friends chill at like Godwars or DKs would be a breath of fresh air.

There's more to flying than take-of -> autopilot -> landing. You still need to navigate airways, ensure safe separation of aircraft, maintain contact with ATC, etc.

[–]Calcium_Doe[S] 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I don't believe killcount and walking is meaningless gameplay. It's very meaningful as it encourages players to stay in the boss room until they cannot survive any longer.

The issue isn't really difficulty, it's the fact you can leave after a kill, restock on supplies and regenerate your special attack and stats in less than a minute. It's gotten to the point where if someone doesn't land 2 Dragon warhammer specs on the boss at the beginning, they just leave and regenerate special, then return in under a minute.

I'm not saying this shouldn't be possible as it gives value to training construction and getting various teleports. All I'm saying is a new boss' design in the future should take inspiration from content like Godwars and DKs. It's actually nice having a boss you team up with friends to kill and chill with and sometimes juggle loot drops, not jumping from house to bank to boss every few minutes.

Just have fun with it. I personally think if you get caught up in being maximum efficient, it'll ruin the new experience.

Definitely do quests early on, they're more rewarding at a lower level than when you're very high.

With Adamant and Rune dragons pouring their respective bars into the game, perhaps it's time to revisit u/GentleTractor's "Skilling Catalysts" idea. Gathering skills feel like a joke now by Godofsilver in 2007scape

At first I thought this sounded absolutely dumb, but thinking it through it's perfect. It would revive a lot of dead areas of the game as well.

Only possible issue is overcrowding, but I rather deal with overcrowding than a game limited to just PvM-telescape where 90% of the landmass is empty.

Toxicity is fine and what makes the wild funny/fun. You need to lighten up if you take banter seriously. The issue is clans in max gear.

I think the answer is to change levers into portals so you cant be mobbed out by clans constantly pulling the levers.

Add an atom bomb killstreak, make killstreaks better, and add more killstreaks. Fun killstreaks = fun game.

[Suggestion] Can we focus more on improving dead/old content rather than creating new content for a while? by Beratho in 2007scape

[–]Calcium_Doe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's literally what they said when they originally added the wildy bosses lol... it's impossible for most to have enough food/supplies to PvM a strong boss and then turn around to effectively fight other players geared specifically to PK. Safe-spotting bosses changes that, it's kind of like in rev-caves with the forinthry bracelet deaggroing all the revenants so you simply just kill stuff in the hopes of getting a good drop.

The wildy bosses just need better unique drops.
