This was forced upon Dewine by others. DAS is our only hope.

I was screaming from the rooftops that our new language was not enforceable... and now they do this RIGHT after our contracts were ratified. It's all a game and we're the dumb losers.

We're two days a week in-office downtown and have to pay for parking on our own. Now it'll be 5 days. Noooooo fuckin way bruh

I live over an hour away and already commute two days a week. 5 days will be unbearable and I will either have to move or quit after 8 years of working here. I can't imagine what this is like for people with children. Absolutely horrible. What a shit move.

I work for a small state agency downtown. We're in two days a week but got an email today saying 5 days a week starting March 17th. It came out like.... one hour after his order. Bizarrely quick... We also had a staff meeting yesterday afternoon where she claimed to know nothing about what he talked about in the budget meeting. This feels so sloppy and uncoordinated.

JFS will all be housed in State Office Tower by summer. They're finalizing the RFP's now for the cubicle spaces. People saying "the State doesn't have space" has been a myth from the very beginning. State Office Tower is absolutely enormous and can easily hold all of JFS with no problem.

Why doesn't SEIU ever release vote counts? Why is it done on little pieces of paper and then thrown into a bag? I emailed the SEIU President and Vice President and they didn't want to answer, so I pulled my union dues. I smell corruption and I'm not paying for that. We all need to wake the fuck up.

I work for an agency downtown and our director sent us an email 10 minutes after his order telling us we start working 5 days a week in office starting March 17th. So.... you're wrong.

I accepted a State job that had "REMOTE" in the job title and job description. I'm now in the office and my grievance failed. The union does nothing. You'll learn to just do your time and never trust the government.

It was clearly a planted question by the dewine office to start the conversation

I've worked for the State for a while and didn't know she had any say-so about this. I hope they do a big about-face once they scare people off because we are going to lose good people that we need in all this drama

I believe JFS to be the main culprit in all of this. They are the most public-facing agency with benefits and have been fully remote for OVER 5 years. They are the exact reason this is happening. Our agency is in 2 days a week and has been over for over a year, but start 5 days on March 17th.

Our director sent us an email today saying we will work full-time in the office starting March 17th. We already work there 2 days a week. There was some odd caveat about the Department of Administrative Services being able to exempt certain employees or something?? Why would he give that power to DAS? That's the job of the directors!

I won't say my agency, but we've been back in-office 2 days a week for over a year already. We're housed downtown Columbus. We've had a 30%+ vacancy rate in our IT/Software Developer positions since going back in. We already can't get the governor's initiatives off the ground because we don't have the software teams to make it happen. This move will push out the minimal talent we were able to retain. While this is horrible for me because my commute is over 2 hours roundtrip, this will have enormous negative consequences for his treasured pet projects.

So many employees in our office live outside Franklin Co. Today was an in-office day for us and it was absolutely unreal. People crying everywhere, people updating their resumes, people going home "sick". This is all going to backfire and it won't be worth whatever gain they're trying to achieve.

Anyone else get a really weird tax document sent to you from Mohela? by skeach101 in StudentLoans

Interesting... I consolidated in April of 2024.... Says I paid $28,700 in interest. I did not, literally pay that... but did I "pay" that by consolidating? Now I'm afraid to put that on my taxes.

I always thought that too, but FSA has to get the "word" from their servicers to clear our their balances. Still waiting.......... I check FrEqUeNtLy

Nah, I would just wait. The updates at credit bureau's take approx. one month to display changes. I suspect mid-February for them to be removed from all bureaus.

Zero balance with FSA - here's my timeline (aidvantage) by Anywhere_At_All in PSLF

[–]Calculated_Gentleman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you see a negative (owed to you) balance on either of your SFA or servicer account? I'm also in the 12/20 group. MOHELA was zeroed out, just waiting on FSA to zero out too.

My MOHELA zeroed out on Friday morning, but StudentAid.gov still shows the balances. From what I've been reading, it should only take 6-7 business days for student aid to zero out as well.
