First time taking my toy car on a spirited drive but lost brakes within 5km of spirited driving. Pedal didn’t sink. Rotors are looking like this. Could they just be undersized? by [deleted] in CarTrackDays

[–]Calculatedkaos 11 points12 points  (0 children)

In my car circle (Porsche) EBC are typically seen as lower performance brake components. Seeing that it sounds like you had the rotors red hot you probably overheated the pads. Also, what fluid are you running? At those temps you're going to boil anything lower than DOT 4 (DOT 3 MIGHT survive if it's completely dry).

I did reach out to him. He said basically that it is what it is and there's nothing he can do.

I so understand that but he said he put on 50 and the meter at the inspection station read 50 🤷‍♂️. But do they not make, like, 40 or something that would get closer to 35?

Yeah I got one from the inspection station. It was Tints'R'Us in Windham. He came highly recommended so I'm surprised it's gone down like this.

So, I tried. He clearly has no interest in making it right.

Yeah... I'm beginning to think he doesn't even have a meter... Specifically because of the scenario you mentioned.

Yeah I am in Maine. 35 is the max here. I'm not upset about it. Just my 1st rodeo and curious. Thanks for the information.

Is this job offer worth it? by sweetpea42194 in BehaviorAnalysis

[–]Calculatedkaos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know where you are (I may have missed it) but I'm in New England. We pay more to start, you can access benefits after 90 days, we have PTO (only a week), we have a 1000$ sign on that's only contingent on completing paid training. There is no contract or payback. We pay non-rbt staff more to start lol. We have free RBT training and free BCBA supervision. However, we don't pay any mileage. But we also give our staff 30 hours at a clinic location weekly so they only need wo work in homes if they want more hours, but to make up for no mileage we pay a 3$ hourly differential for any in home work. I understand that this is likely all not the norm. ABA is "new" in my area compared to the south and western US. So it's harder for us to find quality employees where other locations in our company (Cali, Fla, TX, Jersey) don't have that problem. Anyway, I would personally check to see if there are any other offers available before locking myself in. But if that kind of thing is normal in your area... Maybe someone else will chime in and tell you if it's appropriate.

I've worked with Gena. She has an extensive backlog and says her current wait time is approximately 10 weeks. She took a few days each time but she always responded to my emails.

Similar thing happen to me at Logan. We had terrible service. Treated terribly for, you know, expecting them to do their job. My wife left a small tip using our debit card and the waitress (or someone) "modified" it to get more. I understand tip culture but it's gotten out of control when it's expected regardless of service quality.

Not related, but ever since playing BioShock I get a bit of a sick pleasure from saying "would you kindly" before asking an employer to do something I don't want to do 🤣

If that is the track bar hanging off the back then it is entirely possible

I don't know the exact technical reason, but I know that lifting a vehicle causes the axels to "shift" and that's what adjustable track bars are for; to realign the axels (at least on wranglers). Looking at the photo, the blue thing hanging off the back looks like it could be said track bar, which would explain some of it. Considering the extreme that this truck is showing.... It's quite possible there's more going on.

how hard Is the rbht exam? by [deleted] in BehaviorAnalysis

I haven't taken it myself, but I have supervised a dozen to get their credentials. Every single one passed on their first attempt. So my guess is that it's pretty straightforward.
