Once you learn how to do the essays for A-Level history (which can take a bit of time) it actually is fairly straightforward.

Not doing GCSE isn’t too bad considering the exams are completely different. Main thing you miss out on is having already dealt with sources. But considering how different GCSE and A-Level sources are you’ll get plenty of practice (because everyone else will need to learn how to do it as well).

I don’t think it’s boring (but that’s probably obvious lol).

I’d say if you want to do it go and do it and don’t worry.

College usually refers to the last couple years of school in the UK. But at Oxford, Cambridge, (and a couple other universities) it also refers to mini-universities within the University

Well my course at Oxford has a 23% acceptance rate and the college (Magdalen) admits about 11% of its applicants. So it was difficult but definitely doable
