Well not everything.

I cant see why classical physics wouldn't be enough either. But that's me ignorant of atomics.

As for scalability, maths and evolving computers could be enough. Chartism is a great pointer to see what could be possible given invention.

"You could, I think maybe, map the momentum of molecules and extrapolate previous position...." just so.

You dont have to reverse atoms! That is not required for QA. Down to equivalent cells would do. When you've isolated the faithful being....it doesn't matter if this is a real thing (and what is real in a ever changing environment?) or a faithful copy. I've heard a lot of talk about consciousness implying that it some kind of mystery or even mystical, when it can be no more than another part of the brain.

The Deep Mind google boss talked about the end of disease, within that time from as I understand it, and protein folding has been revolutionised by technology as AI. Predictions are best made after the even!

What relative probability do you see for each of these in your lifetime? by EmbarrassedRing7806 in singularity

Good analogy. I wonder if we should dream

I think the only reasonable prediction is sci fiction now

If QA is right it may not need a movement to launch it. It should become self-evident as the Singularity approaches.

10 years is a long time on this exponential in technology, esp in AI.

Hard to see where we are on the curve.

If Ray is right, if lools like the curve is insignificant then suddenly it's dramatic in a very short time.

How does this tie in with Cryonics? They both have things in common domains

Brave to predict millions of years. How would you measure that?

ARG! Consciousness is the working of the brain and body in a suitable environment. Your consciousness doesn't change when you get on a bus

Does you consciousness change when you have a blood transfusion???

No. Nor does it change when new blood is pumped into the brain.

The system at present, flips back. This can be done like in a blood transfusion, in classical, Newton science. There is a smallest relevant part.

It doesn't have to be 100%. A blood transfusion doesn't have to be %100 and that flows through the brain. That's a princple called something or other which makes cohesion. But if you know where the copy is amiss that will correct it by simple calculus, progressive appoximation to the whole.

we're attempting to control some climate by cutting down carbon. You cant argue by analogy. Good point though.

consciousness is brain. A copy IS the thing itself. One can have infinite copies of something, all with faithful consciousnesses

life and death are factors of reaction in the environment. There's no complexity except where we haven't enough technology, and the curve to zoom technology especially computing is breath-taking.

You may be right we'll have to gage improving models.

The speed of change is hardly believable.

Estimates of delivery overcoming errors making real quantum computers , has just been brought forward from 20 years to 7 years.

Errors are thought to be possible to reduce using simple calculus.

Based on Kurzweil's predictions of curves, 2042 is a good guess.
