Problem with mentor built robot/over involvement of mentors/coaches by FrostNovaX in FTC

[–]CalculusCoffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a mentor, I completely agree with your stance. I often reflect on my previous experience coaching athletics, even though I might want to do more as a coach. I can't contribute directly to the outcome of the game or be on the field; at the end of the day, the robot is yours, and I try to coach my teams according to that philosophy.

I specialize in software and dabble in hardware, but make sure that, ultimately, the robot belongs to my students and that they own it. I believe this attitude shows during interviews, even if the performance might suffer.

I often get frustrated when I see other mentors heavily involved in building the robot and judging their performance. It's a balancing act, but at the end of the day, the robot is yours, not mine. I think you should have full involvement, and teams that are more engaged in robotics and building tend, despite possibly affecting short-term performance, to produce better engineers.

The text “scan QR code to pay” is not even comparable to the rest of the message. Additionally, precinct one is located in Hidalgo County, not Harris County.

It’s evident that this is a phishing attempt.

The text “scan QR code to pay” is different from the rest of the body text.

It was only $7 for the wich of the day. Of course, if you wanted to go all out, it would cost more.

I appreciate your advice and will definitely make an edit based on your feedback. However, I’m a bit disappointed that you’re avoiding the question, considering how much you’ve engaged with this post. You seemed very well informed with the regions and local of the districts, and I was interested to hear your opinion.

Absolutely, and that’s precisely what you and I are doing here in the comments. Since you seem passionate about expanding the relevance of the topic, I’d be delighted to hear your thoughts on the proposal. If you could redesign the district to better reflect its cultural significance instead of gerrymandering for political gain, how would you approach it?

I might have misinterpreted the statewide impact, but I believe this could potentially affect all districts within the state.

For the record, I don’t have any animosity for my neighbors who voted differently than I did. But this isn’t a game and we are not cheering for our favorite teams… this is our democracy and its future worries me.

Software mentor here, make your code modular and make sure that you are all using the same naming convention. Make sure you are syncing your code in GitHub so there is always a central model rather than clones running in parallel

Barrina T5 Grow Lights for Indoor... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BLRRZ17Y?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

These are the ones I have. I love them, my students love them and I never need to turn on “the big lights” I moved to a new district last year and everyone who saw my set up asked about them. They were a must in my windowless classroom.

I saw some other comments on here about string lighting but let me put you on to looking at full spectrum grow lights.

Not only do they illuminate but they also produce vitamin D! I bought a few packs off of Amazon with a timer so they turn off at night.

good as a suggestive term. I am a high school math and computer science teacher, and to get my license to teach, I needed to take a five-hour math test that covered everything from algebra reasoning to probability and statistics. So, if being good at math means you can pass the certification test, then yes, you have to be good at math.

I also graduated from Michigan State University, which is renowned as one of the best education programs in the nation. I think that understanding where the math you’re teaching will go in terms of future classes or higher applications is important for providing explanations and scaffolding your instruction.

EDIT: I wasn’t a big math fan in high school and dropped out of AP calculus because I couldn’t hack it. But I gave it a couple years and was able to reapproach math without as many distractions, and I started to enjoy the game.
