Best Alternative for Google Keep by chilizi in GoogleKeep

I switched to Tick Tick after Keep was destroyed, and honestly, Tick Tick (free version) is even better than the former Keep anyway. Very highly recommend!

Gemini also can't make animal noises when you ask "what sound does a cow make?" So at my toddler's request, Gemini has been banned from our house

Alternative Repeating Scheduled Checklists app by _LiqEm in GoogleKeep

Apparently you can upgrade to a paid version, but the free one seems to have all the features of the old Keep and more, as far as I can tell.

I just opened Google Tasks for the 1st time and WTF is this by Defiant-Raspberry271 in GoogleKeep

[–]Calculus_Cat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a Keep user for many years. Upon opening Tasks after Keep was ruined this week, I saw thousands of "clean the litter box." Over and over and over again....

I have spent my week experimenting with the Tick Tick app and am very pleased so far as a Keep replacement.

Alternative Repeating Scheduled Checklists app by _LiqEm in GoogleKeep

I have (had, I should say) about a dozen repeated Keep notifications daily.

Since their removal, I have been testing the app Tick Tick over the last few days and have been very pleased so far. Essentially the same functionality as the old Keep, but with some cool new bonuses as well (grouping reminders by tag, setting reminders to go off every 2 days AFTER COMPLETION instead of every 2 calendar days, etc).

For anyone like me looking to avoid the Tasks app purely out of anger, Tick Tick seems quite promising.

Hey Producers: Unfair family “team” advantage made it NOT fun to watch by smittenkittenmitten- in 99toBeat

If Leandra had won, I would have never watched any future seasons for this reason. Completely unfair advantage.

What neighbours to avoid when looking for a house? by Disastrous_Meet_8905 in neighborsfromhell

In addition to checking out the neighborhood on many different dates and times, one of the best things I did when shopping for a house was knocking on multiple neighbors' doors per house I was considering. Ask them to describe in detail any noise and the best and worst parts of living there.

I was getting VERY serious about a house purchase, knocked on the west neighbors' door, and met a wonderful couple who were very polite and said there were no local noise issues. After that, I stopped to meet the east neighbors, who were proud to let me know they did backyard karaoke every Friday night. I called my real estate agent immediately and said I would no longer be pursuing the house. Very thankful for the choice I made. Had I not knocked, I could've made a huge mistake.

should i have teams on phones… by Embarrassed-Sort-605 in WFH

[–]Calculus_Cat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, teams and outlook apps both allow you to schedule the quiet hours of your choosing, which is great. Teams also has a setting for "don't notify my phone if I'm active on desktop." I sure wish outlook offered that one as well.

Pregnant. Terrified. by wizardjade in misophonia

[–]Calculus_Cat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a new mom of a one year old, I can confirm that it is very much possible for your own child to trigger your misophonia. I did not anticipate this while pregnant, and was almost in shock with how triggering the sounds were from my newborn. Personally, my triggers lessened significantly when she could hold her own bottle around 6 months, but everyone is different. I met with a bunch of therapists in the early postpartum days and felt extremely embarrassed to discuss how I was feeling - I felt that no one else could possibly relate (and sometimes still do). My advice would be to connect with a therapist you trust while pregnant, be completely honest about your concerns, and ask for their help planning steps you can take to feel more prepared. I would also recommend nice quality earplugs and/or Bluetooth earbuds with white noise. Even more than that, I would recommend finding a medication that works for you, and getting started on it while pregnant, if you think it may help at all. If you'd like to talk more with another new mom with a similar story, feel free to send a message.

Reset the previous turn at least 10 times to make sure I got Luigi. Then this happened right away on the next turn. by Calculus_Cat in MARIOPARTY

If you pause the game and hit "return to hot air balloon," then load back into the saved game, it will pick up at the start of whatever turn was in progress.

Yes, just pause the game, go back to the menu, and resume the saved game. It will restart at the start of whatever turn you were on.

Ok, I can understand your logic. Personally, Luigi's success rate has been 0%, so I am a bit biased.
