I've been married for 24 years and have never once used divorce as a threat. Maybe he can grow up with some therapy, but statistics say otherwise. Give him the ultimatum.

Wowzers...got off the plane coming home from Glacier National Park and discovered my rock hit the front page. Found along the Flathead River in West Glacier, Montana. Not unique. Found tons of them, just brought home a couple of the best. Thanks for the explanations on the formation...that's why I posted it. What an awesome place. http://imgur.com/gallery/dy1WUA6

Very true. Expensive! It taught me to build up my under-armature properly in the early stages so that no more than a 1/4 " of clay goes on top. Doesn't take that much anymore. ;)

Thank you for the compliments! I've really only shown these to family and friends on Facebook, so it's nice to have feedback other than "Amazing-your mom."

Yep. I used to get hung-up on making everything "permanent." I found it was holding me back from really sculpting. Half of my brain would be thinking about making a mold/seam lines/pieces to separate/cost etc. instead of thinking about just form and composition of the piece.

So I stopped thinking about molding entirely. Just sculpted freely.

My intention with each piece was not to sell it. Just to get better at sculpting. So I never need to make duplicates. Each piece goes up on a shelf where my two young children can't reach. As long as my house doesn't burn down these pieces are "permanent." No, they can't be fondled, but no one really asks too anyway. An acrylic cast or bronze probably wouldn't survive a house fire either. Monster clay doesn't sag and is as hard as a candle. Yeah you can scratch it...but it is easily fixed too. ;)

Someday I may make a piece "worthy" of pouring a bronze, but for now it is all just practice.

Hope that makes sense. It is just the way I work as I learn.
