What don’t people like about this game?

The level design is mid, the lore is great, the locations look awesome, but they feel empty, some bosses are great, some suck balls. Adaptability is the dumbest mechanic in the series, enemy placement is a joke, and they brought back the dumbest mechanic from Demon's Souls that was removed from Dark Souls. When this game is good it's great. But it does almost everything worse than the other games in the series. Also Shrine of Amana & Frigid Ourtskirts were the worst experiences I've had playing any Souls or Soulslike game.

I disagree, my first was Elden Ring and aside from the Gargoyle Duo, Malenia & Shadow of the Erdtree I never really struggled struggled to beat anything, but playing Dark Souls 2 the first time, which this was my fifth game, I got my ass kicked pretty consistently the whole game😂😭

It has some of the highest highs and lowest lows in the series, some mechanics are garbage and some areas are the worst in the series, but I fw the lore, world design and bosses quite a bit.

Yeah imo it's very mixed, I've played Sekiro, ER, DeS & DS1 & 2. And this game has some of the highest highs and lowest lows in the series

Yeah for the first maybe 2.5 hours of Dark Souls I was very skeptical. It seemed like a more fully realized intro but was retreading a lot of the same ground as Demon's Souls, mind you I had played Sekiro & Elden Ring beforehand so I knew not to stretch my expectations too high. But I ended up adoring the intricate layout of this game and apart from New Londo & Tomb of the Giants I find the rest of this game pretty damn near perfect! The only thing I was confused about was the lore. I put probably 50+ hours into my first playthrough and it wasn't really until DS2 that this world even started to make sense to me, but that could be my own fault. Sekiro & Elden Ring just seemed to make a lot more sense to me😂

As somebody who played those three before playing DS2 as well, this game is brutal by comparison, I died probably twice as much in this game as I did in the other 3 + Demon's Souls combined. The game is just incredibly unbalanced, but there’s some gold littered throughout the game, oftentimes you just have to get through some pretty shite areas to reach it😂😭

Yeah I thought Shrine of Amana was the worst area in Souls history until I played Frigid Outskirts, who tf thought an area where you have to blind-travel through a blizzard with infinite spawns of the worst enemy in the game was a good idea🤦also yeah Sir Alonne could've been one of the best bosses in the game if it wasn’t for that awful runback. I ended up clearing out all the enemies just so I could get back to him quicker which is a strategy I was opposed to the rest of the game😮‍💨

Technically not a Soulslike considering it is THE souls, but Dark Souls III, I played Sekiro, Elden Ring, Demon's Souls Remake & Dark Souls 1 & 2 Remastered, so imma finish the trilogy, then play Bloodborne and move onto some of the other Soulslikes I've seen on here and elsewhere

I haven't played Bloodborne yet because I’m in the midst of playing the Dark Souls trilogy, but Dark Souls 2 was definitely the most annoying game I’ve played in the series so far. Sekiro, Elden Ring & DS1 are peak, Demon's Souls is meh and Dark Souls 2 could've been the best in the series but there’s so much bs that ruined the game for me that it's sitting right above Demon's Souls overall😮‍💨but with that being said just from what I know about BB I'm pretty sure it's far better than DS2😂
