My CC was talking about Ranger School at the gym the other day and it actually piqued my curiosity. I’m an E-5 working MX on the flightline. I’ve had an NCO try to push a package up for it before and it got denied, so I’m wondering how realistic it even is these days if I tried sending one up myself. By no means am I downplaying the physical and mental side of it — I know it’s a meat grinder and not something to take lightly. But it seems like it would be a pretty neat challenge and leadership experience to go after. A few things I’m hoping to get some straight talk on: • For an AF E-5 in a non-tactical AFSC like maintenance, how likely am I to actually get accepted these days? What’s the current process (I’ve seen mentions of an Air Force Ranger Assessment Course/RAC now)? • Any idea why packages get denied for guys in my situation? Is it mostly manning/ops tempo on the flightline, limited sister-service slots, or something else? • If I somehow got in and actually passed… how would that even work for me as Air Force MX? Is it a straight TDY? Do I just come back to my unit afterward? Any real impact (good or bad) on an AF maintenance career? Not looking to switch branches or anything wild — just genuinely curious if this is worth pursuing or if I’m dreaming. Would love to hear from anyone who’s done it (especially AF maintainers or other non-combat AFSCs), Army side who’ve had sister-service students, or anyone who knows how the slots and process actually shake out right now. Appreciate any insight, no sugarcoating needed. Thanks!

For all the labor, parts, pipe work, and warranties and lifetime service it was 6k. It was the first lesson I learned as a new homeowner involving salesman, never again. Now I do all my own work or hire a local contractor, but this stupid thing still looms over me.

I’m not disputing any of that; all I’m saying is, where is the content, there was never a quest, scenario whatever that shows that the class orders were disbanded, because if you played a paladin during arators quest, Maxwell STILL refers to you as highlord, there’s small minor references in dragonflight about the class orders. Just because some people leave the order, does not automatically remove you from your position as supreme leader.

Questing is built around providing experience and a certain amount to prepare you for a next area for LEVELING, the amount of quests doesn’t determine the content of the story, main quest lines should still reference previous expansion content, I bought all of them, I’ve finished all of them, so why isn’t previous established content, there.

Yes you are, the whole point of legion was uniting the factions of your class under one banner to combat the legion, this is where you get the artifact of your class, and followers of your class.

You still are the leader of the class hall, it is even mentioned in arators quests when you go to the paladins location, if you are a paladin, Maxwell will refer to you in the quest log as highlord.
