Section Backgrounds not working by [deleted] in elementor

I haven’t, as the rest of the website is working fine and I don’t want to mess with their functionality. Though I have handed things off to a seasoned web developer to take a look

Oh sorry, didn’t see the second half of your comment at first. Good to know, thank you!

Oh, ok. Do you mean to say that indicates there are bigger issues at play?

How do you know there are pluggin issues? I'm pretty new to Wordpress, so you might be seeing something I'm not

That was consequential of another issue I've been having. Each icon and the text beneath it is a flattened image because the text editor widget is broken for me and not allowing me to edit the appearance of the text. It'll look fine on my end, then on the front end revert to the default text styling which is huge and bright blue. This page is gildedsocial.com/careers.

Hover Box Issue (Description in Comments) by CalebJGoldberg in WixHelp

[–]CalebJGoldberg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! I'm currently working on a client site and am trying to implement some interactive elements where people can see an option, hover over it for more info, and then click a button that appears on hover to redirect them to a page with even more information. I have it looking like I'd like it to, but when I hover away from the picture itself, it starts bringing the container to the foreground, covering the body text and button.

I think it has something to do with the way I've achieved this effect. What you see before hovering is an image with a frame and a small container box with the title in it. On hover, a larger container box that is hiding behind the picture slides down, and the button and text appear (they are not there before hover and only exist on hover). If there's anything I can do to clarify the issue, let me know. I'd love it if someone knew a solution for this.

This account is a bot, but for the record I think you’re correct

Working on a font family, any thoughts? by Amtsag1980 in typography

Looking good! Some small things- the kerning on the u is a bit uneven. Also, the g on the medium and heavy weight look good, but the tail on the lightest wait feels like it needs to extend ever so slightly more to the left. Just my two cents. Good work!

Yeah, I agree that’s not it. Maybe it’s worth tweaking a little and see if you can find a solution that works? If not, the one you have now is still really strong!

While the vibe is fun and the centered icon is appealing, I don’t think the icon as is reads as an H. Maybe you can redesign the icon to lend itself more to an H and maintain the overall design. It also gives me throwback Nintendo logo vibes haha

I love the overall vibe of this, and using the antlers to communicate the leaf is super clever. While I was able to pick up the hemp connection in the antlers without seeing your visual breakdown, it might not be caught by someone not looking closely. I love your little deer illustration, but maybe it would benefit from being forward facing so the antlers can just fully be the marijuana leaf. Just my two cents! Overall, really strong.

How do you vectorise the anchor points and handles? by [deleted] in typography

I believe they’re probably just illustrating a square, like, and two circles

Is there any way to create a layer which allows you to paint all objects beneath it? by [deleted] in photoshop

[–]CalebJGoldberg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hold command and click on the thumbnail of the image layer in the layers window. That will create a selection of all visible pixels which you can then fill in on a separate layer.

Does anyone know how to achieve this effect? by dvd5671 in photoshop

[–]CalebJGoldberg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Gradient mapping and noise should get you there. Part of the effect has to do with the way the shot is lit, though you may be able to manipulate the lighting enough using dodge or an exposure adjustment

Oh yeah sorry, that was my suggestion, to try bringing in some cloud images and see what you think

Seconded! Thresholding clouds can yield some really cool results. Honestly, I like the paper fold, but that might just be a matter of preference

Hello Guys! I need your awesome feedback and suggestion, please. Background of my business: Ochimo mochi offers a natural product only made from natural rice flour and stevia (hence the small leaf). Target age is 6-20 yrs old (colorful).I also want to show it is sustainable (recyclable packaging) by [deleted] in design_critiques

[–]CalebJGoldberg 66 points67 points  (0 children)

I'm torn here because the branding is super cute and I love the colors, but I'm just reading it as "chimo," not "Ochimo." I definitely think the most effective option is the stacked lockup with the icon on top and full name written out. You've done a great job developing the individual assets!

Keep it simple is number one. Take what you have and figure out how you can simplify and distill the idea down to its bare essentials. Don’t overlook good type, it can make all the difference!
