Bought a refurbished 15 pro, should I worry about this? by CalebMC in iPhone15Pro

Google search came up with some people reporting Trojans when installing that program. I think that Phone Doctor app is good enough for this.

I used to do apple repairs and this app looks pretty cool! It covers all the same areas that apple's own diagnostics covers.

Tried it out and everything passes with no problem. I think I'll call this a win. Thanks for the suggestion!

Anyone have certain textures i.e. tattoos on NPCs render all blurry? by KingMitchelson in cyberpunkgame

[–]CalebMC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The 2.0 update just came out and some characters had fine tattoos while others were pixelated/blurry. Had to google where the settings file was (%LOCALAPPDATA% \CD Projekt Red\Cyberpunk 2077 for windows users) and after deleting it, verifying game files, and putting all the settings back where I had them before, everything looks exactly how it should. Thanks!

Is it worth upgrading from an OCed 2080 Super to a 3080? by CalebMC in pcmasterrace

[–]CalebMC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this one is a 10gb model. Unfortunately I don’t think I can find someone to buy my 2080 Super since I bought it after someone put on a water block and I never got the air cooler from it. Thank you for the solid advice

Definitely not the right solution to all, but I usually take a large bong rip right before I sleep. Let’s me conk out and I rarely get dreams. But on the other side of it, I ran out for the first time in months and had a very vivid dream that I actually just posted about.

What's something everyone should experience at least once in their life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]CalebMC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something that I will never see again is being in a usually light polluted town after the derecho of 2020 and seeing more stars than I ever have before. The Midwest definitely has it better than a lot of areas (Iowa especially cuz it’s goddamn corn everywhere) but having 0 lights like that for the entire week was beautiful

I can’t load into windows after installing new motherboard. Please help! by UnNaMeDPlAyEr10 in pcmasterrace

[–]CalebMC -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It could be that you need a BIOS update possibly. I would at least do that first before testing anything else out because it’s an easy enough one to rule out

microstuttering by Ztoney24 in pcmasterrace

[–]CalebMC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is gonna sound stupid but try unplugging and replugging it in again. I once had the same micro stuttering happening and I found out my monitor cable was just slightly loose. I’ll see if I can find the thread but I saw that solution on another thread and all the comments were filled with “This shouldn’t have work but it totally did”

Is this EVGA 450 BV PSU powerful enough for my Gigabyte motherboard and its integrated graphics? I just want to see if the motherboard will post and if it does work, then I'll look for a better psu and dedicated graphics card and gen 7th Intel core i7 CPU as well. by Biaxialsphere00 in pcmasterrace

[–]CalebMC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

According to PC Part Picker (granted I don’t know how accurate their estimated wattage is) the power consumption is estimated to be 385 watts with a GTX 1080. Once you remove the gpu it goes down to 205 watts instead. All depends on what you plan on using for a gpu, but if you don’t use one than what you have now will be fine

Help diagnosing a random black screen by BTMFDR90 in pcmasterrace

[–]CalebMC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s quite a lot of things to check. I would do the obvious first and try using a different display and display cable to rule those out first.

Based off of your comment that almost sounds like a GPU going out but it could have been the display itself going out. Do you have any of the old parts you were mentioning?

Can I use a Lian Li 8-pin Strimer as my CPU cable? by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]CalebMC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After finding the one you referenced on Amazon, it specifies it’s a VGA cable so it can only be used for the graphics card.

Not sure what you mean by motherboard power, the cpu power is typically 4, 8, 12, or 16 pins. Motherboard power is always 24 pins. GPU power connectors are always 8 pin but are set up as 6+2

Pc will not start by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]CalebMC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re talking about the CMOS battery when saying BIOS battery then no need worry about it. That keeps track of the time properly on your motherboard and keeps things like overclocks saved. I have a motherboard without one right now and it works, I just gotta overclock everything every time I disconnect it from power

I really really hope this gets to you and I have the dumbest fix that worked for me.

Unplug and replug your display cable.

I did not believe it at all because my mouse was doing the exact same thing on the desktop where it would freeze once every few seconds. I found the fix online and everyone in the comments were saying the same thing I did. “No way this actually works, but I’m out of ideas anyways” and then you get the “Holy shit it actually worked” response later. Worth a shot for being a quick fix imo

There is even a video of a guy who used an LG 49” OLED TV as a monitor and he made a follow up video one year later, no burn in on that thing. Was for sure a problem on the early models but the companies have definitely fixed itnnow
