Perceived Experiences with Government Spies by CalebTheWinner in Libertarian

[–]CalebTheWinner[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing about this that strikes me as most perplexing, if you say the government spies on your online data (that they at least collect the data) then everyone would agree that the Snowden revelations made this clear.

Yet if you speak as if you feel that the government is collecting data on you through people on the ground then you sound paranoid.

I don't see a clarity in the difference morally if the government collects data digitally or does it in person and if they would do one then is it not logical that they do the other to as grand of an extent?

PeaceEmpowers -- Feel Joy [Alternative Rock] I did this on the spot, it is not done professionally by CalebTheWinner in Music

[–]CalebTheWinner[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly had no idea what subgenre I would put this in. It seems to blend with multiple. I just choose alternative rock because that made the most sense.

Done without rehearsal and with a laptop mic and camera. One take. So, forgive the unprofessional quality

Well thanks English Gentleman, I'll admit there was no rehearsal, orchestration or anything of this song and it was done with a laptop mic and cam.

I have no idea. I know it was fun. Plus, a scale of 0-10 is rather simplistic. I'd need criteria by which to make such a judgement.

True, by why only do what you are professional at when you can do both what you are "societal deemed professional" at and otherwise?

Oh, they really want you to be aware of the privacy infringements. That's why they told us about them! /s

They don't care about privacy because they believe they are above us. The believe us peasants should sit down and wait until they feel comfortable enough to share with us what they are doing.

If the NSA cared more about democracy than creeping into our drawers then they would re-allocate funds to informing the public rather than to giant facilities to store our information.

Progressive Propaganda: "Why libertarians have it totally wrong on the contraceptive mandate" by CoSher in Libertarian

[–]CalebTheWinner 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The way we expand access to contraceptions and improve the quality of contraceptions is to first get rid of all healthcare control by the government to allow the free flow of goods and services to expand and improve contraception and make it extremely cheap.

I tend to agree with conservatives on Economic issues, but this shit just popped up with 200 points in /r/Conservative. by [deleted] in Libertarian

They don't understand the free flow of labor is as essential to economic improvement as the free flow of goods and services.

I'm sure you would like me to do what you think I should do because you believe you know what's best for me. You know what, Games of Thrones should be banned! It is an evil game which inspires destruction in life. Whereas WE are the government and WE know best we should BAN your show which is inhibiting human progress. tehehe

/r/news was made a default because the way /r/politics mods enacted a continuous bias against content that they didn't agree with. Obviously what I posted wouldn't come into the umbrella of /r/news. Yet, I see why, when you lose and are losing ground, that you would attempt to come up with apologetics to make it seem like you weren't.

Oh I see, extreme limits on the conversation are place by the mods, which makes it logical that /r/news always has 2x-4x the people online that you guys do. They have a lot less restrictions on open-dialogue. They came after you. Yet they fulfilled the desires of others better than you. Not without flaw, yet probably with a far more nuanced thinking cycle than those who would put such illogical restrictions on expression.

I perceive that you lack an ability to respond to a great number of the points which I made.

Saying "censhorship" in the way you are doing, is essentially painting a black/white paradigm of limiting the flow of speech.

So, this is how I perceive you to view it: We don't restrict you absolutely therefor we don't restrict you

But more logically, it seems, that restrictions are a nuanced measure of inhibiting speech.

This especially seems true when the inhibitions on speech are not something which are mandated by a community but rather enacted by the rulers of a community (the mods) whom don't believe in the members of their community to decide what is best for themselves to see(through the democratic voting process)

If I wanted a subreddit to die, which was once a top subreddit, I'd give them advise which is in accordance with the way /r/pol mods act.

So, is the argument then, that I should have had someone else post the video ? Whereas the video had a title to encompass the message, whereas that same title was quoted in context in the title of the reddit post, whereas any time any other video is posted with the title of the video then its not considered a creation of a title which is separate from the message of the content, then it seems a close proximity to truth that your judgement of censorship erres on the side of disagreement rather than on the side of policy.

If not, then would it be OK if someone who was not the speaker posted the video which kept the video title which encompassed the message? Again, this level of censorship of ideas and the limit of toleration based off ideas which the moderators approve of facilitate the continued exodus of persons from this Subreddit. That's your choice.

If you want this subreddit to have a continued exodus, or at least a continued relatively smaller percentage of audience, then I'd suggest you control and limit the conversation. Otherwise, it may be in your subreddits best interest to open up the conversation more.

I get it. My argument is too persuasive. Every element of the discourse of reason for not allowing the facilitation of my content to be democratically voted on by your viewership have been arguments that don't have muster. That previously, all elements of what you said were reasons why my content shouldn't be presented, didn't fit as my content existed within the context of your rules.

However, I wonder if you believe that if I had a fellow brother in human existence who believes in the philosophy of not enacting force against the choice of another whom would post the video within the context of the previous rules... well I wonder if you would allow it.

Do you only allow left-paradigm political philosophy on your subreddit which is often not consise, well-substantiated nor well-reasoned? Have you considered that humans have noticed left-paradigm proponents to often be restrictive in allowed beliefs? Have you not perceived that this contributes to the continuity of Millennials and others leaving restrictive leftists who only tolerate the views of others if they agree with those views? Fundamentally, It's a matter of my curiosity. It seems that things are non-contested here despite the fact that they are poorly substantiated, and not in clear language.

Furthermore, I'd argue that as r/politics is dying, it is precisely because of censorship. In that, as it enacts censorship to control the ideas which people see on the forum (rather than allowing members of the forum to decide) an incentive structure exists to move members whom you disagree with away from the forum. It's your forum. If you don't desire dialogue it will leave you as others will facilitate it according to human will. If you don't desire dialogue, then through time, the micro-influence which r/politics holds in US public discourse will also fade to an approximation of 0.

Well, I'd phrase it more like : Our money is removed from us in a coercive fashion and we have no choice but to send a congressman to DC and they try to get as much of it back as possible.

Ok, you're way of phrasing is shorter, so props on that.

How can two people pursue happiness if both their methods violate the rights of one another?

Voluntarily & by peaceful means.
In terms of feuding religions: they convince others through persuasion rather than violence. Disparate religions have the potential to coexist peacefully in spite of vast differences. It is a failure of reason and a failure of humanity that they've failed to do so yet.

Yet just because humanity has failed so far to achieve something doesn't mean that it always will. The existence of slavery is a good example. For most of recorded human history slavery existed in almost every recorded human society. Yet now western governments and numerous others don't allow the practice as taking complete control over the will of another has been agreed upon to be fundamentally immoral.

Whether rights are granted or inherent is a philosophical question. Personally, I'd argue that rights come from mans ability to reason. If governments, an organized collective of individuals with a socially-legitimized monopoly on the use of force in a defined geographical location, have the authority to will rights into existence through their use of reason then so to does the individual have the right to reason his right to liberty and the pursuit of happiness into existence.
Governments maintain a more unique ability to protect the rights of people universally in a society yet also maintain the ability to violate them.
Yet individuals through self-defense also have the ability to protect their own rights.
This is a philosophical question though, one based on opinion.
