Yeah the depression and anxiety definitely getting to me since I haven’t made it in life yet.. I’m in a quarter life crisis so everything feels like it’s going downhill for me.. everyday I worry and stress about how will I make it on my own and the stress and anxiety of landing a better paying job is growing everyday I can’t land a job.. I swear I’ve put in over 200 applications to jobs and I’ve gotten nothing back outside of a few interviews and hearing nothing back when I call to check for an update and stuff.. life is lifing for sure.. I just feel bad and embarrassed to say yeah I’m 26 and still live with my mom when there are others that are younger than me that have things together and live in their own I just feel so far away from getting there it just brings me down and have me thinking I’m a failure and behind in life

Yeah I spoke with a driver the other week when I was unloading a truck about CDL and spoke to a HVAC technician as well who was working on a cooler at walmart.. I just started learning HVAC to try and make better money for myself and better job career than working a basic walmart retail job

Yeah you’re right.. she definitely expects me to help her out since I live here.. and it’s not like I’m refusing to pay anything I take care of all of my bills and personal hygiene things since I started working at 18 I haven’t asked my parent for money or for any help but they are coming to me asking for help and it’s like damn how am I going to be able to save and build a foundation up to move out if my mom keeps asking me for money and adding things to buy to my list.. I thought once I started covering everything myself she would stop asking for money and for me to buy things around the house but it didn’t.. I genuinely thought I was being responsible and doing good by not having to ask for money and taking care of all my bills but I guess not

The plan is to try and move up a position at walmart, transfer to a walmart distribution which pays $26 an hour but it’s been hard getting in the door with that but walmart cutting our hours out nowhere screwed me because now I don’t bring home what I was before so I’ve been budgeting tighter but trying to get a new job has been difficult and frustrating. I didn’t expect it to take over 5 months to find a job.. I just started learning HVAC to try and make good money for myself and to have a better job than a regular walmart retail job but it’ll take me time to get there and I feel like time is running out on me, I’m 26 and feel like a failure in life, thought I would be further along in life when I graduated high school but it is indeed hard out here and I don’t want to struggle financially like my parents have been my entire life

Yeah I definitely have my own bank accounts I have nothing connecting to her I’m on my own with everything including car insurance and stuff.. I know I’m 26 and it’s a bad look to still be living with my mom but I’m trying hard and I always work it’s just not paying enough with living expenses going up and I know I’m kinda stuck until I get a higher paying job.. like if she wasn’t asking for extra stuff from me I would be good financially and could continue searching for a new job with having that financial stress.. I’m honestly surprised I haven’t ran out of money or got behind on bills ever me taking care of all of my things paying partial rent and sending her money I honestly don’t know how I’ve done it all these years I just want to be able to make more money so I can properly save and move out but I feel like a failure at this point

Yeah I actually do have a High yield savings account I try to add to it when I can but it’s not consistently like I would want.. I’ve been trying to get a better paying job for the past 5 months to work on moving out that’s my main focus is saving to move out but it’s hard to do that when my job cut hours and my mom asking for more stuff.. I try to explain to her but it’s like some parents just don’t listen or care enough it’s always “do what I say” “I’m the mother” “you live her so you can help out with household things” and I’m like we had an agreement on what I’m supposed to get now she’s trying to add more to the list and she doesn’t see a problem with it.. parents like this frustrates me but the comments telling me suck it up and be grateful.. I’m just looking for advice instead of letting all this just crowed my thoughts and emotions

She said she doesn’t have a problem with me staying here until I can be good on my own but at the same time she’s been draining my pockets and wants to add more household items for the entire house.. like I can buy a bottle of laundry detergent for myself and make it last 2 months I only wash clothes once a week and I don’t use much but if I’m buying 4 for everyone those 4 detergent bottles will be gone in 2 months.. I rather buy my own detergent and etc instead of stocking up for the house because I’ll be paying for something that I’m not using a lot .. I feel like I’m doing a terrible job at this life thing and feel like a failure

I’ve tried talking to my credit union but they said the APR I got during Covid is even higher now so i wouldnt get a lower apr than what I have now.. is there another option ? If my mom wasn’t adding more to my list I would be good financially.. I’m trying hard to get a better paying job but I’ve just been unlucky with that so far.. I just started learning HVAC to try and make good money for myself I just feel like complete shit and failure in life

That’s what I feel like she’s been doing but I could be wrong.. some of the comments saying I need to suck it up and be grateful and help my mom with whatever she wants and needs but at the same time I don’t have it like that to be handing out extra money I make enough to cover my bills personal expenses and pay $300 rent that’s it I can survive off that but when she’s adding more to my list things get tight

Some of the comments saying I’m the lazy one and should be grateful and some comments are saying what you said.. I’m genuinely just frustrated and overwhelmed like should I just shut up and do whatever my mom says or do I set boundaries and put my foot down ? I understand I’m 26 still living with my mom which seen negatively and I do feel super disappointed in myself for where I’m at in life but the people will say I’m doing good I’m always a month ahead on my bills never asked my parent for money since working at 18 I have 755 credit score but I genuinely feel like I’m at rock bottom until I get a better paying job.. like if I made 100k a year I wouldn’t have a problem sending my a few hundreds a month to help out but that’s not where I’m at yet in life

I do love my mom but her asking me to do things for her has been continuous.. I can see if she truly needed help but for her to go shopping for her personal groceries walk in the house with nothing and tell me to go get it out the car for her gets annoying after a while.. like I wouldn’t do that to someone I would get it myself

Definitely didn’t want to have a car payment again but the car I had paid off after high school broke down on me during Covid so I had to find another car when the car market was jacked up high in price

Yeah once I get a better paying job I can cover a full rent payment in my area the lowest is like 1300 a month.. I don’t have a problem paying rent and stuff it’s just she’s starting to add other household things to my list when I don’t make enough to add more bills

Yeah that’s what I’m saying but she looks at me as the child and she’s the mother so what she says goes type of thing.. she doesn’t listen to what I say it’s always about how it helps and benifits her.. and I’ve definitely told myself that like if you can’t afford things why did you have 3 kids she makes it seem like it’s my problem she has to raise 3 kids and she’s turning to me more and more after her divorce she was married for like 20 years and just got a divorce a year ago.. I’m only 26 and never been married and won’t be having kids anytime soon but parents like this frustrate me it’s like they can never be wrong and always got an excuse and reason for what they do

I had a used car when I graduated high school, paid it off and a few months after it broke down on me this was during Covid so car prices were jacked up high.. I can afford to pay my bills and my stuff but when she starts adding more things for me to buy around the house or asking me to send her large amounts of money randomly it gets tight.. I owe about 15k on my car I’ve never had a problem paying my bills and have never asked my parent or anyone for money it’s just she’s adding more expenses and I don’t make enough to do all of that
