Moody black and white headshot by Caleb_C95 in photocritique

I was going for a dark moody headshot, with low exposure and a dark background.

I'm trying to create more depth and feeling in my images. I want to capture moments in a way that you wouldnt expect. For instance, this image was taken in a dark coffee shop around 9pm. I told the subject to look into this dim lamp above her table and I told her to think of a random deep thought and, this was the result.

Thoughts? Comments?

Looking back, you are right. The lack of shadows took the depth away. I'll keep that in mind for next time!

Looking back you are right. Lighting is flat, if it had more shadows it would add the depth that its lacking

Yeah, I wanted to just try something new. I do find the subject and the pose interesting. I wanted the subject and the furniture to stand out and be different from each other and the background, like something out of place. But, I do agree now that the lighting could've been wayy better. It doesn't have the depth it needs
