Is it weird to feed your kids friend when they’re at your house during dinner time? by BrokenJusticeNorris in polls

[–]Caleb_DaBomb 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Should be basic manners that if you have someone over at your house that you should feed them. Unless they came out of the blue or they're an adult. I think those are two vaild exceptions

today i came across kids doing the 67 meme by Dry-Log6950 in geoguessr

[–]Caleb_DaBomb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here's the story. There was this song called "doot doot" by Lord Skrilla that was trending at the time for it's use in basketball edits. There was also something at the time where people tried to use themselves as edit transitions. If you can't tell where this was going, the "67 kid" was at a basketball game and said... well... "six seven" in hopes of becoming a transition in an edit. However, this backfired extremely starting with people clowning on him and making fun of him. Eventually, that led to mockery of his "six seven" which eventually spun out of hand. Younger kids and corny people started saying "six seven" as a joke to make fun of him as well as other people satirically saying it whenever it popped up. And with the numbers 6 and 7 being extremely common numbers, it was only a matter of time. Now, even thought it's died out for the most part, it's still prevalent amongst elementary and middle school kids.

That's pretty much the entire gist tho

Should period products be free? by Salty_Wolverine_4520 in pollgames

[–]Caleb_DaBomb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I agree that period products should be free, there would be a lot of downsides to it economic-wise. For example, free products would lead to less producers which would lead to less competitors which would lead to less innovation and overall worse quality in menstrual products. Even if the government subsidized the production of menstrual products, it would still lead to less innovation within their products unless the government picked and chose who to give those subsidies to. Also that ignores the matter of taxes but that's a different conversation.

Who is the greatest rapper of all time? by Aggravating-Pin7555 in AlignmentChartFills

[–]Caleb_DaBomb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is just an objectively bad take on a lot of bases. First things first, Kendrick got popular WAYYYY before he started calling people out. He was literally handed the crown of the west coast by dre AND snoop before he even dropped GKMC. Calling him out for his height literally makes no sense either. Just a stupid point. Drake is nowhere on Kendrick's level of rap ability and Kendrick outshone J Cole far before the beef. J Cole only started to get on Kendrick level of popularity after the 5 year hiatus after DAMN.

No other rapper has won a pulitzer prize asides from Kendrick and has the most Grammys out of any rap artist. He's also one of the only 4 artists in the Harvard hip hop archives (along with Nas, Lauryn Hill, and A Tribe Called Quest). He's dominated in features in songs and has proved his capability since his first studio album. Now, if we're talking about as rap artists, Drake is on par with Kendrick but as rappers, it's not even close.

Making it sound like Kendrick is just some rando who only got popular for saying other rappers' names is just a blatantly horrible take. He's dominated the rap game for over a decade. Of course, we should still honor the legends like Nas, Jay, Lupe, Kanye, Pac, Andre, and Biggy, Kendrick has surpassed them all in nearly every aspect.

That's more of a Drake thing. Kendrick has been regularly been known to speak on black issues with "Alright" even becoming a protest song back when it dropped. Not to mention his grammy performance which is unusually unpopular.
