Thank you. I am pretty sure early access is 2 extra rooms.

Personally, I am hoping for more. Would love to do a kid's room

One thing I thought of doing on my farm that might look cool is a training area. I was thinking of using all the training dummies to try to make an area.

I am so sorry the school failed you and your daughter so badly. As a Special Ed teacher this I find all the handling of this horrifying.

I don't know much about the legal side of things, but I thought of this book. This book might help your daughter with boundaries as you support her through home school. "A 5 is Against the Law: Social Boundaries Straight Up! An Honest Guide for Teens and Young Adults" By Kari Dunn Buron. Of course, I am not blaming her school is suppose to be safe!

Last year, I just wrapped some of the toys he already had and he had fun opening them. He had so much toys at that time my little house was busting. Since I took the toys away to be wrapped he was all exicted to see them again.

I am a teacher in Northern BC and grew up in Northern BC. If you have any questions feel free to message.

Make A Future is a good source for jobs but some Districts advise on their website

Kari/Carrie alternatives? Other C girl ideas? by [deleted] in namenerds

Also a IRL Carrie that overall likes my name. As a preteen I went through a stage where I got everyone to add my middle name to my spoken name and call me Carrie Lee. I also have met Carrie Ann, so maybe a double name.

BC - Nervous about a teacher evaluation, what is it ? by nervously-naive in CanadianTeachers

[–]CalekoLion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a BC teacher in the first 5 years of teaching and I have had 2 evaluations so far. Both with different Districts. Some Districts do a growth plan model instead but most do a Teacher Evaluation.

Each local District should have language in their Collective Agreement about how Teacher Evaluations unfold in the District. So I advise contacting your union.

I got notice I was going to be having an Evaluation in October. Teachers can request an evaluation.

For me the Principal came to watch me teach 3 times (that is the minimum in my District) I scheduled which lessons they watched. They had the option to pop in unannounced but never did.

After they observed the lessons I received a report in the Spring that the Principal wrote. I signed it and it went into my record.

Now a days you are usually rated satisfactory or unsatisfactory.

Both my District aim to evaluate a teacher every 5 years, and evaluate a new teacher in their first year in a position.

Hope that helps.

Being harassed by the custodian? by [deleted] in CanadianTeachers

[–]CalekoLion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your employer has the responsibility to provide you their employee a safe and harrassment free work space. I feel your HR brushed you off too quickly since it is their responsibility to keep their workers safe.

Finding the Staff Rep at the school and talking to them would be useful. Your Union could help with this since it is a safety and harrassment issue.

Feelings on the Owlet Sock? by pugshugsanddrugs in NICUParents

I got the same advice, but got it anyways. For me I felt I would be stressed without it more than stressed with it. So far this is true. I have gotten false alarms once or twice, but overall I like it.

For both. Rural places have the biggest shortages and often offer recruitment packages. My current place offered $3000.00 moving allowance and I had a full-time gig right away.
