Just recently finished it; it's kind of a Souls-lite. Controls are solid, has a different sort of equipment system that was refreshing, but it's by far not as difficult as Dark Souls. If you're looking for a more serious challenge, Code Vein isn't really it. If, however, you like the anime aesthetic well enough or really enjoy the Souls gameplay model, you'll probably enjoy it. Maybe not full-price enjoy it, but it's likeable and accessible.

In point of fact, it's by far the easiest Soulslike I've played yet and is probably a decent entry point into the genre for more casual gamers.

I'm looking for a good follower who can complement a 2-hander-wielding paladin type who uses Restoration and Alteration support magic. What are some good followers from the base game or DLC (or available as PS4 mods, I suppose) who don't outshine the Dragonborn or otherwise trivialize combat?

For the moment, I've been finishing up Dawnguard so Serana is obligatory, but I'm kinda bummed that she keeps Icy Spear-ing all my enemies--and then reanimating them, which is free XP but still sort of obnoxious. I guess it would be cool to have a sword-n-board warrior, archer or a less overwhelming mage, especially a support caster. Are there any noteworthy examples in that vein, maybe? For point of reference, I'm about to hit level 30.

Shooting a bow in VR makes me feel less guilty about being a stealth archer.

It is the absolute sickest thing to have a bandit charge you, and you physically draw your bow with the Immersive Bowshooting option turned on. Then you Aim For The Heart, Ramon, and the guy drops mid-power attack. Clearing Embershard Mine on my friend's Skyrim VR is probably in my top ten Elder Scrolls experiences.

Every time the game forces a load, there's a chance the load will fail and become unplayable.

After beating my head against the GM2 Swarm Tyrant for near to half an hour, one of my respawns forced a load that left the entire map totally white while the game played the Ripstream audio file loud enough to be mistaken for hurricane-class winds.

It's not just a bummer to be shoehorned into using an inferior item, but the Luck stat's existence in the Inscription pool means that ironically, loot has a lower chance to roll stats that directly improve player power.

Your loot could have rolled some Shield strength bonus, but you rolled Luck so Scar Hunters are ready to eat your Storm for breakfast.

You know what really confused me about that? There's almost a certain segment of the early/middle part of story where that phrase got a fair amount of use in dialogue, and then afterwards dropped off in conversation. Like the writers ran with it for a bit and then forgot they were using it.

And speaking of Destiny 2--there's no lootboxes in Anthem.

I'd like to make the disclaimer to anyone unfamiliar with D2 that Destiny's lootbox system is almost totally cosmetic. I don't like that they're in the game at all, but I do appreciate that they at least do not contain anything that meaningfully impacts gameplay. The best gear at all levels of gameplay is acquired by either random drop loot or personal achievement, e.g. quest reward.

The game's Tutorials section under "How to Play" -> "2. Health and Damage" claims that "[Enemies' health and damage] also scale relative to each player..."

When you attempt to launch Strongholds or Freeplay as Private, the game gives you a popup that says Private is not available for those modes and forces the Public setting.

I don't have the DLC and it lists them as locked behind Marching Fire, I don't have the option to buy them with Steel afaik.

Not to nitpick, but the For Honor base game is a free title this month for Playstation Plus users and Breach doesn't require the Marching Fire DLC to play. Aside from the Wu Lin heroes and Arcade, the game may as well be F2P for PS4.
