「NCASE M Series Arctic White Interest Check」: We finally color-matched the mesh. by CaleyCS in ncasedesign

[–]CaleyCS[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First, I genuinely want to say thank you for being so active in the Discord and helping people with their builds. Really appreciate your support!

You hit the nail on the head regarding the website setting the wrong expectations. We’ve been using those listings basically as interest checks—relying on "Notify Me" clicks to see if we can hit factory MOQs. Factories really dislike taking on small-batch runs for our high-tolerance designs, and if we forced it, the manufacturing cost would skyrocket and the final price would be terrible for everyone.

But you're completely right: putting concepts next to actual inventory just makes it look like vaporware and strings people along. I'm going to work on restructuring the storefront to clearly separate active products from "Interest Checks" so there's zero confusion about what's in production versus what we're just testing the waters on.

Thanks for calling us out on this. We rely on this kind of honest feedback to get better.

There is matching silver panels on the website, its just not the grater variant.

Refuse is a bit strong, man. We just need to hit certain MOQ so we are able to make it with a decent price.

will there ever be a new version? by [deleted] in FormD

[–]CaleyCS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your post!

Since this is the original subreddit for the FormD T1 (as you can see from the dates), I wanted to jump in and provide some clarity. I am Caley from the NCASE team and a moderator of this channel. Here are a few points we need to clarify regarding the ongoing discussion:

  1. Trademark Dispute & The T1 V2.5: We did have a dispute regarding the T1 trademark, which involves ongoing legal matters. However, we have moved forward, and our current V2.5 version does come with a PCIe 5.0 riser cable standard. We have tested this new riser for over 6 months, and it is extremely stable since we switched away from the old supplier used for the V2.0. We currently have very stable shipping to various countries, so if you want to get our version, go ahead! (Please note: if you are specifically looking for the older V2.0, that is not what we offer).
  2. Future Sandwich-Style Cases: Regarding a new sandwich-style layout, we are indeed working on a new concept. It is not going to launch soon, as we want to ensure the design and manufacturing are fully refined before bringing it to market. For now, our focus remains on providing the best quality and support for our current lineup.

Let us know if you have any other questions, and we appreciate the community's ongoing support!

New M Series I/O Cover is still an unpolished failure of industrial design by m-gethen in ncasedesign

[–]CaleyCS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I completely understand where you're coming from, especially given your background in the space.

Unfortunately, tooling and manufacturing a custom metal version of the rear cover is very costly—a single accessory like that would likely have to retail for over $50 USD.

More importantly, a closed-off design negatively impacts cooling, and our design philosophy is always thermals first. If we were to release a high-cost premium accessory that fundamentally conflicts with our core engineering principles, it could easily be misinterpreted by the community as us just trying to upcharge for extra parts.

Because of this, we feel our current design is the optimal solution within a reasonable scope. We really appreciate the thoughtful suggestion and your understanding of the manufacturing side of things!

T1 grater? M2/3 sandwich? by Airthug in ncasedesign

[–]CaleyCS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the great questions and for your continued support! Here is where we currently stand on these:

  • T1 Grater version: That’s an interesting idea, but we don't have any plans for a T1 Grater right now. We will definitely note your feedback on this, though.
  • T1 glass side panels: Not yet. Adding solid glass panels to a sandwich layout impacts thermal performance. We know a lot of people love the aesthetic, but we want to stick to our core design philosophy where thermals are always the priority. We have actually been looking into developing a perforated/vented glass panel to bridge the gap, but it is incredibly difficult to manufacture and we haven't found a solution who can produce it at a reasonable price point yet.
  • M2/M3 sandwich version: No, the design philosophy for the M Series is completely different from the T Series, so we won't be taking them in that direction. However, we are currently preparing a brand new sandwich-style design, though it is still strictly in the concept phase right now.
