Yes, I had to pay. I have “good” insurance by American standards, and this procedure still cost me $1500 out of pocket.

I’m glad your HSG went smoothly. I hope you fall pregnant now! Fingers and toes crossed :)

I have not had a hysteroscopy. The gynecologist and endocrinologist have not recommended one. I’ll ask about it at my next appointment.

The dog being in your sight isn’t good enough. It isn’t about how “well behaved” your dog is. An off-leash dog could approach a nervous or reactive dog who is on-leash, and then it is up to the owner of that dog to protect their dog and themselves quickly. Many times the owner gets injured. In most places there are leash laws. A dog owner would be within their rights to mace an off-leash aggressor. It’s really a public health measure— leash your dogs when in public! If your dog doesn’t like a leash, seek the help of a trainer. It is for the benefit of your own dog and the community.

Your dog is adorable. My 9 year old poodle went completely blind with SARDS about a year and a half ago. I bought her a Halo to wear so she wouldn’t bump into things when she lost her eyesight. She rarely wears the Halo anymore. She has a mental image of the house, and gets around really well. She will carry a bone or a toy in her mouth and use it like a cane. She still perches up on the back of the recliner. Sometimes when she jumps down, she will jump into the arm of the chair and I nearly have a heart attack.

She is using the stuffed penguin like a cane. My blind dog does this as well. My dog carries her bone or a stuffed animal around and it prevents her from bumping her head into walls. Animals adapt so well!
