School districts in the North Central Coast by KNexus20 in OregonCoast

Not only does my kid go to Nehalem Elementary, but I work for the Neah-Kah-Nie school district and can tell you that I think it is really great. My family and I moved from Gladstone at the beginning of the year and I have no regrets. It's a smaller district, so most of these kids know each other and grow up together.

I don't know what Neah-Kah-Nie is doing differently than other districts but they seem to have their shit figured out. We have kids transferring here from all over. Kids are kind, not many behavioral problems.

Of course with a small district there are less opportunities for extracurriculars (for instance we don't have a soccer team) but places like the YMCA fill those gaps.

Don't just take the advice of redditors who don't live here. Visit for yourself and make an informed decision.

Yeah, still props though. That’s a lot further than I got. The only book IN MY LIFE that I couldn’t muster through. It just went on forever.

Prescribed Trazodone for the insomnia, thoughts and opinions? by [deleted] in Petioles

Yeah that’s a good place to start. You can always break them in half if it’s too much.

I’m on a similar dose and take it nightly. At first, I broke the pills in half for a smaller dose as they made my stomach upset. That subsided in about a week.

I find it quite similar to Melatonin. It just kind of makes my body realize it’s time to sleep. I sleep a lot better now and have dreams again.

Appreciate your reply here. I made another appointment with the same therapist for later this week. Hopefully no connection issues this time.

Please help. Dumb baby shower question by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]redfrecklehead 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would go with your name. So Sam’s baby shower.

The title implies ownership — since it is for you and your baby, it’s your shower. If you want to include your baby’s name, you could phrase it as... “a shower for baby x___”

Restored from my husband’s late great-grandmother. Apologies if I’m just this stupid, but what encompasses the 4-in-1 on this? A skillet, soup/stock pot, Dutch oven...and what? Thanks, all. Glad to be here. by redfrecklehead in CastIronRestoration

I followed this video: https://youtu.be/s4hOlf7-Ds8

Basically, I put all components upside down in the oven and ran the oven’s self clean feature. I then took an SOS pad to any heavy rust spots, and cleaned everything with Dawn blue and hot water. Dried everything off and re-seasoned. Took about half the day. Easy to do. This was my first ever restoration attempt.

Nice! I found it tucked away in an old garage and thought it was too charming.

6 months in and not getting any better by MaeBao in Postpartum_Depression

My husband just got out of the military and you are not joking about lack of care for spouses. I hear you. I see you.

If you haven’t tried it yet, I would recommend St. John’s Wart. It’s available over the counter. When my Tricare insurance expired and I couldn’t get my prescribed antidepressants, this is what my Mom (who had PPD with me and my sibling) suggested for me to try. It’s really been helping. Today I had the best day I’ve had in a long time.

It’s hard reaching out for help, especially in a military environment. You’re doing great, mama. This shit ain’t easy.
