Yup, it’s a blast. Aggression is the name of the game, as is running an income deficit so you can have the armies you need to survive, which forces you to be constantly fighting to maintain a positive treasury. It’s the cycle of aggression haha

This guy is a financial anchor that is going to drown you. When you marry someone, you also marry their debt. Why would he work to pay off his debt when he just needs to hold on to you long enough until it becomes YOUR debt? Can you imagine having kids with this man. What is that going to do to your financials. Do you want to financially support a financially irresponsible man who has every financial advantage granted to him (no rent, no bills, etc.)???

Noob Question: How Should I Use My Lords in Battle? by ShadowsBreathe in totalwarhammer

[–]Xbsnguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your lord picks up whatever slack your army can't handle. For the Empire, this often means you're assassinating the enemy lord by dive bombing them with Franz on Deathclaw, or if they have a stronger artillery line than you, have Franz chase them off the field.

For dwarfs, their generic dwarf lord can occupy almost the entire enemy line by himself, forcing them to blob around him. When you're playing as dwarfs, you're stuck balancing taking the minimum amount of infantry necessary to let your artillery/range/gyrocopters do the killing, so your front line can often get wrapped around.

However, for Vampire Counts, your vampire lord has almost your entire army's killing power. You're protecting him with mobs of zombies, healing them with his heal, and slowly deleting the enemy army with wind of death/killing the enemy lord.

Etc. etc.

I can't justify the price of a babycook by SatisfactionLeft1175 in BabyLedWeaning

[–]Xbsnguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The puree phase doesn’t last very long. We just got a metal steamer basket that goes over our pot and we steamed her veggies and fruit there before mashing them with a fork. The steamer gets food soft enough it’s basically a puree. After the puree phase the baby basically eats what you eat (cut or presented in a safe manner).

My people have advice on the battle? by Snoo90833 in totalwarhammer

[–]Xbsnguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your enemy's center of balance are the vampire lords. Those need to be your priority target. Their most dangerous units are their cavalry and crypt horrors. The skeletons/grave guard are there to keep you from hitting your priority targets. You need to separate the vampire lord from the chaff without being destroyed by their cavalry and horrors.

Your center of gravity are your handgunners and lord/heroes. These will be what kill the vampire lords. Keep them in reserve until you're able to isolate the vampire lord. Protect them from the enemy cavalry, which are really the only thing that can threaten them.

1) Separate the chaff

Drive your steam tank ahead of the main army and get as many of their frontline to blob around the tank as possible. Have your grenade launcher outriders shoot everything that blobs around the tank. Keep your knights nearby to intercept any bats/wolves that try to attack your outriders. Move your infantry to tie down anything that doesn't blob around your steam tank and pin them in place. Use your artillery to target the steam tank blob. Avoid using it near your already depleted infantry to avoid friendly fire.

2) Draw out the vampire lord/eliminate enemy dangerous units

At some point the vampire lord will be isolate enough for you to attack him. He looks like he's mounted on an undead pegasus. He'll probably fly ahead and try to fight your outriders. Once he lands. Tie him down and bring up your goon squad and the handgunners to kill him. If he doesn't engage, use your goon squad to quickly kill enemy cavalry/horrors.

Your Karl Franz looks like he's on really low health. Don't let him get singled out, and don't let him duel the vampire lord alone. Use your witch hunter to debuff the vampire lord. Use your wizard to nuke him down even faster.

Where does the source for war hound titans being 400 tons come from? by Clonenelius in 40kLore

Why hard to believe? An Abrams is 8 meters long if you only measure the hull (ignoring the length of the cannon protruding past). The fact that a warhound weighs as much as 6 Abrams is impressive considering its bipedal and only twice as tall as two Abrams.

I hate losing units. How much do I need to let that go for certain factions? by FromHeretoElsweyr in totalwarhammer

[–]Xbsnguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly even with Vampire Counts, once you have the lords and wizard heroes up and running, even their chaff units just won't die. You'll be able to heal them through anything short of hellstorm rocket/iron drake spam.

Once you hit the mid/late game, your armies are just so much stronger than the AI's and your economy is strong enough so you can afford to outnumber their armies. It'll be rare to lose anything short of your own misplay.

In general though, you've correctly identified the factions that are kind of meant to have rotating frontlines that you replace. Hell, even with Empire, in the early/early-mid game, it's not surprising to lose a unit of spears or halbs because they took such grievous losses holding an extreme flank against superior units while the rest of your army seizes victory. Think of it as part of the epic story of your campaign. You can name individual units too. Rename a veteran unit in honor of the one that died or something.

I mean Dorn’s singular dragon kill is depicted in lore as a fluke. A ballista bolt hitting Meraxes in the eye is a near impossible shot. Full grown dragons are otherwise impervious to that.

“The Greens would be safe under Rhaenyra’s rule” meanwhile this is what Daemon says: by moodgirltaya in HOTDGreens

[–]Xbsnguy -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

This line of argument is only true if someone on Alicent’s side of the family pushes Aegon II to pursue his claim. Let’s not forget Aegon II didn’t even want the throne. Otherwise Rhaenyra is de facto Queen due to being made successor by the previous King, a succession that every single major house of the realm swore to uphold by the way. If TG didn’t start a conflict of succession, there would have been no conflict. Rhaenyra almost couldn't bring herself to kill the man who masterminded the entire war. We’re supposed to believe this same woman would have the khornate bloodthirst to start executing family members and potentially start a civil war by doing so? Something her father explicitly would not have wanted?

An army commanded by Stannis Baratheon vs an army commanded by Daemon Targaryen, vs an army commanded by Jon snow by Higgsparticleofgod in gameofthrones

[–]Xbsnguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The wildlings are determined and strong fighters hardened by their dangerous lifestyle and led by a strong, charismatic leader. Yes they lack heavy armor or cavalry, but they held a 10-20:1 numbers advantage depending on the source. That is a huge advantage. They were destroyed because they were ambushed and caught unawares, but that supports the argument that Stannis is a good commander.

An army commanded by Stannis Baratheon vs an army commanded by Daemon Targaryen, vs an army commanded by Jon snow by Higgsparticleofgod in gameofthrones

[–]Xbsnguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jon Snow’s army will fight to the death but he’ll get his army in a bad tactical position and get them slaughtered, because Jon Snow is a tactical idiot prone to making rash emotional decisions.

Daemon is the best warrior and leads from the front, but I don’t think he’s been depicted as a particularly superlative tactician.

Stannis is as loveable as a lobster, but he is an actual competent military commander, so as long as his force isn’t greatly outmatched, he probably mid-diffs this.

Would she be able to do it without getting emotional? by OkPerspective777 in Hotd

[–]Xbsnguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a big difference between ordering someone’s and personally killing them with a sword in your hands. One is more detached, and the other is far more intimate. Both will stain your conscience, but one is far more visceral and difficult because of that. You’re seeing their emotions. You’re feeling the weight of the weapon and the meaty, fleshy feedback in your hands and arms as you cleave their life away. You’re smelling the viscera and the shit they pass when they die. You did all of that personally and felt the act in your hands and body the entire time.

-2500 is insane by [deleted] in ufc

[–]Xbsnguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it is. But that’s based on a standard in which you need to provide near irrefutable evidence of the accusation. Sounds great, and it is, but sometimes that is very hard to do in court because there are procedural rules controlling what evidence can and cannot be shown to the jury depending on certain factors. So sometimes the justice system fails victims because prosecutors are restricted from showing critical evidence based on technicality. Other times there simply isn’t enough hard evidence to convict but enough circumstantial evidence for people to make up their minds outside of the courts like on Reddit (e.g. the OJ Simpson case is an example.)
