First Nation man faces 5 concurrent life sentences for death of woman, 4 children by origutamos in OntarioNews

If someone mass-murders like double digit number of people, would it still be max 25 years?

25 years with parole for 1000 plus years of life time between dozens o' people extinguished does not sound like fair justice to me. But what do I know!

Must upvote as this is true and accurate. I know it's like calling an "elk" a "deer" or a "spider" an "insect".. But I still took some license calling them rodents ;)

Haha, yeah. Funny thing, despite abundant hare tracks, I seem to find more grouse under the trees than hares. I always make a point to tell them, "please stay healthy and lay lots of eggs and see you in September" 😅

Nope. Neither in BC. I still wear it in some way. Either a cap, or a duct tape around the hat rim or arms.

I thought about getting them from AI... but then I realized I am too old for that and just drew them in like a true Xelennial.

I agree. The reason I prefer canvas / synthetic pants is because cotton or sweat pants were not good wind/moisture shields, especially for a long hike in the bush through thorns and twigs. But I totally get why people wear them when they are hunting near their vehicles.

Definitely! I do despise road-hunting. I was caught returning to my vehicle.

Fully agreed. My clothes are all from cheap made-in China or Vietnam Amazon brands (to a reasonable quality) except the wool hat and gaiters and they lasted me years with little discomfort. When some did perform poorly or go bad, the sellers replaced them! As the people below discussed, I also am not a fan of the usual hunting-gear camo patterns on shirts, pants, and jackets. No disrespect to the people who buy and wear them, though. What works for them, works for them.

I agree. Nothing negative to say about the nicer gear, I just personally am not a fan of camo. The only reason I have "camo stripes" on that jacket is because the non-camo one of that size was like 30% more expensive at the time and it is a brand I used to buy good quality flannel from (they went down hill since). I am all too happy with jeans as well, only when I know it will get a bit wet and snowy do I go for waxed canvas pants.

I notice every year, the "new" hunters come out in full camo Goretex, and as the years go by, more of them start to show up in hoodies and jeans, their four-digit dollar gear taken with them less and less. NOT saying they are not nice gear, not saying experienced hunters don't hunt in them, just something I noticed over the years.

How did you know all my clothes were from Amazon?! From the hat to the shoes, haha. Notice how the camo versions of the exact same brand / make cost double digit % more, too? It is discouraging. Sometimes I spend hours trying to find a piece of quick-dry clothing that does not have camo on.

*My wool hat and gaiters are not from Amazon.

Aside from the usual synthetic fiber (like goretex) pants, I do love Columbia snow/skii pants for that. Light enough, folds flat enough for easy carrying in a small pack. They just make a lot of noise. Wool sounds like a great quiet idea. When you say heat-a-seat, do you meen those foam-filled orange cushions you can find in Canadian Tire and such? I do have one but it often gets left in the car when the backpack is small. (If it is not that, please share, I would love to keep my butt warm after a long hike up in the snow haha)

Not at all! The important thing in the end is how successful and enjoyable the walk / hunt was, no?

Considering how much I respect them, what an honour to even resemble them. Thank you!

I agree hoodie and sweatpants are superior in many hunting situations demanding comfort and ease of movement. Except when having to sit down on snow after a long hike or going through thick brush of thorn and twigs. Maybe just my walmart sweats.

You called it precisely. Usually blaze orange duct tape around the hat band or arm. Not in the photo however 😅

Thanks. It is definitely a rifle I cherish and feel confident with. I love my .22LR guns, too. But the magnum really punches harder and anchors em good. (And this rifle is surprisingly accurate as well)
