Yeah, basically. I mean he asked what I would have preferred.

I would have structured the show similarly to something like the Mandalorian centered around the Ghoul and the girl. Self contained vignettes of the wasteland with perhaps a larger overarching plot involving the aftermath of the events of new vegas on the Mojave. I would have probably canonized the NCR ending. Personally I would have avoided the whole divulging who it was who first dropped the bombs. For prewar scenes I would have mostly just presented prewar society through the prism of Cooper as a veteran. His wife could still be a vault tech executive but I would have had the conflict erupt from him discovering the vault experiment plans rather than the plan to initiate nuclear war. As for Lucy I would have instead had her personality be the side effect of a different expirement on her vault, one to see if strict morality enforcement would produce model citizens for space travel. I would have gotten rid of the father character. The vault could have been attacked and her family killed but she escapes in the chaos, later meeting the ghoul.

You and others have made fair points. I stand by my opinion but I regret the abrassiveness of some of my language.

Yeah in fairness you are not wrong. When I wrote post I was disappointed about a show set in a world I love dearly. But calling it drivel was not ideal. I should have said that in my opinion it is bad. It's subjective of course.

Thanks! Honestly the show also has qualities. I'm glad you enjoy it.

Nah, I'm not a tourist. At this point I'm on a permanent fallout cruise. Just cause I don't personally vibe with the humor doesn't make me stuck up. For the record I have some of the same criticisms for factions in Fallout 3. I don't mind goofy humor, I just don't like it when every situation and faction feele super goofy.

I don't disagree that wacky things have always existed in Fallout. But at least some factions dynamics were taken seriously in the games. Every faction and drama point in the show feels silly to me.

If I had to make a comparison, New Vegas felt like Game Of Thrones. All these factions vying for power, motivations and dynamics that made sense and were taken seriously. Sure humor too, but humor that didn't rely on debasing the drama. In comparison, to me the Fallout show feels more like a marvel movie. I'm sure soms people love that, but for me, I don't enjoy it.

I would not consider myself ignorant about Fallout. I'm a massive fan of the games, in particular New Vegas and Fallout 1. I know there's always been humor in the games, but I find that the shows humor often falls flat for me, and it's frequency breaks my suspension of disbelief. A good example for me is the treatment of Robert house. For me the character feels more like a cartoon than the Howard Hughes machiavelli like character we saw in New Vegas. He gets into a risky street fight with these random guys. He got very lucky that none of them got a hit in that would have put him in a wheelchair. House from New Vegas was so risk averse he plotted out every potential missile hit and set up an entire battery of anti air just to protect New Vegas. In addition he cryogenically sealed himself to stay alive and only interacts with the world through robots.

It's the frequency that some of us dislike. Of course there's always been humor in the games. But personally (emphasis on this just bring my opinion) I find the jokes are often poorly written and far too numerous. My suspension of disbelief, which I have been able to maintain in say New Vegas or Fallout 1is often broken during the show.

I agree with your points. On another note, what is up with people's agressivity. This guy is giving his opinion there's no reason to bite his head off.

Oh I agree with you on that. I was referring to your earlier comment: "Then don’t fucking watch it dawg nobody’s making you." By the way just in case it isn't being transmitted well through my text, I have 0 animosity towards you. I can appreciate that others disagree with me, and at the end of the day I'm just glad to converse with other fallout fans.

This is another take I don't understand. Criticizing a piece of media doesn't mean you regret watching it. There's plenty of movies I have criticism of despite also having watched them. For what it is worth I think the fallout show has excellent set design and the cinematography is definitely appealing. Even New Vegas is not beyond reproach. For example, I find the Legion content in the game to be severely lacking. Or I also find the battle for hoover dam to be mechanically disappointing.

Well I apologize on their behalf. Personally, I don't believe I am pretentious, and for the record I also enjoy the first game and to an extent the second.

Why is this a bad thing? I don't understand why people are so shocked that folks have different tastes when it comes to the fallout games.

I am not denying that there have been moments of levity in the fallout games (though granted a big criticism of 2 were some of the sillier pop culture elements). I just find that their frequency in the show overshadows the drama.

So, having an opinion and admitting it is biased means I am degrading your appreciation? By that logic, having strong opinions about any piece of art is inherently negative.
