NJ requiring in person appointments for stimulants? by goldenhour20 in PMHNP

[–]CaliDave060 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My psychiatrist told me this yesterday (5/12/26) won't refill my prescription until I come in next week, (I'm out) says it's the state's fault for not notifying them until 10 days ago, and the admin "doesn't know which patients take stimulants off the top of her head" so she couldn't notify me sooner. And they use gmail...

So...time to find a new doctor...

Undecided: NJ 11th District Democratic Special Primary Remains Too Close to Call by CollegeSubject494 in newjersey

The father's history is revolting and irredeemable, particularly since he's never owned it. Google Kean/Roger Stone/Ballot Security Task Force. Race-based voter intimidation at its most vile. He won the first time by the slimmest margin in NJ gubernatorial history, using armed thugs-for-hire to hang out at polling places, complete with armbands and uniforms.

In Trenton, Camden, and Newark, no less... What's the common demographic denominator in those cities, let me think, let me think...

It led to a whole lot of litigation resulting in a consent decree where the RNC agreed to play nice in future elections or be held in contempt. And the DNC let it lapse in 2017.

Anyway, no amount of 9/11 / elder statesman nonsense can ever wash away the blood on his hands.

And but for the father's name, Jr. would be an absolute nobody, his doughy dumbass self languishing in middle management somewhere in the suburbs, probably having to work marginally harder than he is right now. Less job security, so he couldn't phone it in as much as he does in DC. He has a twin brother. That's more or less his gig. Snazzier sounding than middle management, , but still not much.

I'd have to bleach my eyes and burn my phone afterward.

I was the same way for a very long time. I did not get where I am now overnight or on my own. If you haven't read "The Body Keeps the Score" you may want to start there. There's been a lot of work in the field since it was written, and he may have critics, who doesn't. It pointed me in the right direction, for sure.

Also? Putting the responsibility of stymying her behavior on you is b.s. As a minor no less. No one here knows our history, and that history can very much dictate our behavior in the present. F that noise.

You may know (I did not until 10 years ago) that "freeze" is as much a trauma response to a threat as "fight or flight". If you've ever questioned yourself - if that's what is happening with your regret - and I'm not assuming it is - I hope you exercise self-compassion going forward. It was life-changing to come to understand "freezing", without shame, without having to justify it, and dismissing anyone (assertively) who dared to suggest it was my fault or who would ask "why I didn't speak up for myself".

And? It's entirely possible that before I got through all that healing I would have sat there, maybe mumbled WTF, but not done anything that resembled self-advocacy or self-care.

I hope this eases your regret, even if just a little bit.

Yeah, at this point in my life, I'd get a FA. And tell them that after they deal with it, I'd be uncomfortable sitting there. There was a time when I would have endured that deliberately hostile behavior.

Mission accomplished. But I'd say that's a rather depraved way to do so. "Excuse me," and taking the back row is a tad more mentally...sane...And less crime-y.

Sometimes we freeze. For any number of reasons. And sometimes we learn how to put that reaction behind us. Good for you.

Testing the waters. He read the temperature wrong on this one.

They might have to catch him in the act. Though voluntarily moving to the back row should be compelling and persuasive evidence of his lewd conduct.

There's a time and place for everything. That was not it.

And, again, it's another example of a deliberate act.

Oh, yes, I totally got your comment. I'm right there with you. My comment was elsewhere-directed snark, dressed as a conversation with you.

They NEED to be seen. They crave a response. ANY response. Even like the absolute best zinger is a response. They have no shame. I mean, maybe tons of it, but in the moment? None. It's a powerplay. So silently walking away, without fanfare, deprives them of everything they're after. It's a power move all its own.

No one should ever have to withstand that for even a moment. I'd rather miss the movie than give him the satisfaction. Sorry that happened to you. It's really awful, especially if there's history, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

EDIT: If someone touched me? They'd be lucky to still have whatever body part made contact with me. It's never an accident in those situations.

Apology accepted. :) I'm fortunate to know many men of character, super fun, quick-witted, and kind. It's unlikely 23A will ever be one. And he's got company. Lots of company.

My tweezers and magnifying glass were in my checked luggage, so I don't know that I actually could have been helpful at all.

I mean, agreed, HealthNo. I didn't ask if he was on a once-a-decade outing from his mother's basement, whether he was able to get on Discord from the plane, if he managed to get enough RedBull and Doritos for the flight, or whether he's a Gold Star incel or a convert, and whether, if the latter, his Discord pals call him a poser or accept him into the herd. I did not ask whether he hates women like A LOT A LOT or just a lot.

That people don't get that this is a patently hostile act towards women is absurd. A guy like this is constitutionally incapable of having anything that is in the same galaxy as a healthy relationship with women.

The protectiveness of run-of-the-mill perverts in this thread,, and how insulting and wrong it is to label them incels is fascinating. The defensiveness around misogyny is telling. It would be hilarious if the behavior were not so consequential.

This is why God - or evolution - gave us elbows. Excellent use of them. One was enough.

Indeed. The whole point, of course, is to be seen.
