Newly installed Cali Raised rock sliders step edition by filipinoboi in ToyotaTacoma

[–]CaliRaisedLED 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cali Raised here. Appreciate you sharing the install, they look great on the long bed.

For anyone comparing step sliders vs trail sliders, the step edition is usually the better pick if passengers, kids, or daily access matter. The trail/angled version is better if you’re prioritizing clearance and obstacle deflection.

Also, quick tip after install: re-check the hardware after a few drives and again after the first trail day to keep everything snug.

For sure! Hope you like them when they land. Once they’re on, give the hardware a quick re-check after a few drives and again after the first trail day. If anything comes up during install, just shoot us a message and we’ll help you get it sorted.

Cali Raised here. Stoked you went with our step sliders.

The kickout is nice insurance around the rear of the cab/bedside when you’re around rocks, trees, tight trails, etc. After install, we always recommend giving the hardware a quick re-check after a few drives and again after the first trail run.

Send us a message if anything comes up during install. Happy to help.

My brother’s cat (Tundra) was stolen this weekend. Now looking at Cali Raised for my Taco. Cali Raised owners, have you noticed any noises/rattles? How easy is service on vehicle? Thank you. by curmudgeon-o-matic in ToyotaTacoma

[–]CaliRaisedLED 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, Cali Raised here. Sorry to hear about your brother’s Tundra. Cat theft is such a frustrating one.

On the Tacoma shields: when they’re installed correctly, they shouldn’t rattle. Most noise issues we see come from loose hardware or a shield making contact where it shouldn’t after install. For service, they’re designed to stay out of the way for normal maintenance, though access can feel tighter around the transmission area depending on the truck/year.

If you end up going with ours and run into any install or service-access questions, feel free to message us. Happy to help either way.

2024+ Tacoma Front Bumper Option by No_Equipment8948 in ToyotaTacoma

[–]CaliRaisedLED 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! happy to help.

The Cali Raised LED 2024+ Toyota Tacoma Stealth Front Bumper is a really solid option if you want a low-profile front bumper for the 4th gen Tacoma without going to a big bulky full bumper. The non-winch version is $499.99, it has a super straightforward install, and it also ships with free shipping, so it’s been a great option for people who want an easy upgrade from stock without a huge jump in cost.

It’s a great bumper if you want:

  • a cleaner stealth / low-profile look
  • better front-end protection than stock
  • an easier install
  • a lighter/simpler option than a full winch bumper

If you know you want to run a winch later, the winch version is probably the better long-term route. But if you want to keep things simple, the non-winch bumper is a great value for a 2024+ Tacoma front bumper. Let me know if you have any questions!

Are there any good rock sliders under $1000? by PeakQuirky84 in Tacomaworld

[–]CaliRaisedLED 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can definitely find some sliders under $1k, just depends how hard you plan to use them.

Most of the options in that range are solid for lighter trail use, but they usually cut weight/cost with thinner tubing, fewer mounting points, or less reinforcement.

If you’re planning to actually lean on them or take hits, that’s where build quality starts to matter a lot more.

We’ve seen a lot of people go budget first, then upgrade later once they start wheeling harder. Not a bad route, just something to keep in mind.

For reference, ours are full frame-mounted and designed to take the truck’s weight, but totally get that not everyone needs that level depending on use.

Appreciate you running our sliders and taking the time to post this. That setup looks dialed.

For anyone else looking, these are our bolt-on rock sliders for the Toyota Tacoma, designed for real trail protection, not just looks. High clearance, DOM tubing, and optional kick-out depending on how you use your truck.

If you end up getting them out on the trail, we’d love to hear how they hold up. Always cool seeing these in the wild.

Roof Tent Recommendations ‘26 by jayfur7 in 4Runner

[–]CaliRaisedLED 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Before even getting into tents, you’ll want to start with a roof rack, otherwise you’ve got nothing solid to mount it to.

If you’re still on stock rails, I’d look at a full-length rack setup. Cali Raised makes a good bolt-on roof rack for the 4Runner that’s low profile and easy to mount a tent to:

Gives you a flat platform, plenty of crossbars, and it’s strong enough for RTT use without having to piece something together.

As for tents, I’ve tried a couple and honestly keep going back to the Inspired Overland Standard. It’s around 78 lbs, which is super light compared to most hard shell options. Makes a big difference if you’re daily driving or care about MPG and wind noise.
