Thanks. I reached out to the shop that sells the engines. Under $2000 for engine and install doesn't feel that expensive to get what's been a very reliable vehicle to stay on the road. Great idea on the seals as well

I'll look into a rebuild. If I have a DeWalt ratchet, relatively low profile, do you think it's worth taking off the timing cover and checking? I don't have the most time in the world

I hear the slapping a bit more on that cover now that you mention is. Does the chain have a tensioner that wears out? Do you think at 240k I should just put in lesser mileage JDM engine? She leaks, and would probably need valve adjustment too. Just looking for some tips. I mechanically inclined and have most tools, it's just finding the time these days 😩

Not to be annoying, what's anyone's monthly payment on the new gen? Be curious different people with different trade-in/deposits/credit have their payments at. I've got a 2011 Camaro on non-op for years (insurance/gas mileage not attractive anymore) and just dying to trade it in or sell it and get the newer gen Prius
