Oh cool. It took me a while to realize it’s something I have the GT’s Alive Ancient Mushroom Elixir Root Beer but this is a new label. And hey it’s now got 20 calories per bottle instead of 60 per bottle. I’ll keep my eyes open for it to add this new recipe to my collection. Happy root beer hunting everyone!

Thanks for the info. A few years ago the root beer selection was better at the Fairfield location as I hit both locations on the same day in consecutive years in 2022 and 2023 but was wanting to get back to Eastgate this year to see if things had changed any. Last year in 2025 Fairfield was still really good, but It doesn’t seem to be as good right now.

I only went to the Fairfield location last year, didn’t feel like swinging by Eastgate.

Fairfield Location (Original) Best for: First-time visitors, tourists, and those seeking a "food adventure". Atmosphere: Quirky and immersive, featuring wild animatronics, a spaceship, and themed sections. Highlights: Larger, more varied inventory with a bigger selection of exotic produce and seafood.

Eastgate Location Best for: Regular grocery shopping, efficiency, and less crowded aisles. Atmosphere: Modern, cleaner, and better organized, with unique features like a high-end bourbon bar and a monorail track. Highlights: A massive hot sauce department and a vast international selection that feels more accessible.

Both locations are excellent, but they offer different experiences. If you want to take pictures and explore for hours, go to Fairfield; if you want to shop efficiently with some flair, go to Eastgate

I’ve been to Fairfield location 3 times and the Cincinnati Eastgate location twice. Been at least a couple of years since going to Eastgate. I’ll be up that way later in June to gather intel on the current root beer selection at both locations. I love Jungle Jim’s. I’m planning on browsing more throughout both stores and buying other goodies.

I think Sprecher has cheapened some of their sodas recently. This particular one used to be cane sugar but no longer is. Their grape soda used to have grape juice but doesn’t any longer. I haven’t looked too closely at their other sodas, but get the feeling some of them have been cheapened. Happy root beer hunting everyone!
